OldBoy

I saw this trailer, wayback years ago, about a man who was locked for 15 years without reason. Then there was action scenes then thriller as well which I was drawn to it. Unfortunately, that was like 3-4 years ago, way before my ex came in. hehe Thanks to DSL and torrent, I was able to get this film. Hooray!!! hehe

So, I got the film and at first my plan is just take a look at it, some scenes, like browse some scenes just to make sure that it's ok. I used to do that for every film I got, however, when it started, I am really watching the film. I forgot that I should just check it. hehe

It starts that a man holding a man's neck tie and says his name is then the scence cuts right away to the interrogation scene with the police. The man was drunk, going nuts and well was released thanks to his friend.

While calling to his home, the dude suddenly lost and that's where the story goes..

Full of fun, action, thriller, I thought it's an action but it's not. Some gore, sex and well, thoughts. I can't spoil the movie here. hehe I just simply want to recommend it. Well, the lead guy is really unlucky, especially he was charged for a thing that he kinda slip. The one should be put in prison is his friend, but anyway, his friend got killed. So the lead guy is kinda lucky but not in the end.

The movie, directed by Chan-wook Park, by the way, it's Korean. I watched Korean movies before, but it's more love story like my sassy girl, and others. But this one, is the best Korean movie I saw. The Host is good but this OldBoy, is on the top. What made it good is the emotions shown in the film. I was drawn to it and it will change suddenly as it approaches in the end. Even it's kinda sad, the dude should be grateful, he is still alive with his love one.

Music is in pace with the movie especially the beginning and the end part. The setting, even it's dark but perfect for the story. The plot, kinda complex it is. Especially, about the theme of it. Vengeance for the 2 characters.

There were scenes that are shocking. Well, I am not suprised to the other scenes, but what shocked me is the octopus part. Damn. That's a true octopus. hehe Ewwww. Hehe But it adds flavor to the movie.

Everything is good in the movie. I mean, even it's dark, it's just I feel sorry for the dude because he was not given a chance to repent.

Moral story? Kinda complex but it's just don't spread rumors to your talkative friend. hehehe

The action scenes where few but good, especially how the dude handled hundred guys in a tight space. I thought they were more but oh well, it's not an action movie. Great actors, everything.

Oh, that is one of the vengeance movies made by the director, and his last one, also good but not as OldBoy.

But one thing is for sure in that movie, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Yeong-ae Lee, (jewel in the palace lead chick) is damn hot. hehe In Jewel in the palace she's kinda, well very conservative, but in that movie, she is not. hehe That made her hot.

I recommend that too, but I definitely recommend OldBoy first.

Damn for 15 years you're locked without any reason, I am going to kill that bastard. hehe

By the way, Will Smith is trying to remake this? I won't watch his movie even it's Steven Spielberg will direct, no way. If the ticket is free, or i'll just wait for the DVD, or just I don't think they will copy or do it in a different way. They will simply fail. hehe
