oh posh!

Me and Claire are saying that word for the whole time while waiting for a jeep inside the Ayala Alabang Village going outside, back to ATC. Where waiting and tired going back. Simpletons waiting in a posh village, just saw posh people, stars, water, and bazaar. What a posh life! hehe Which I don't want to be, even you're kinda super rich. hehe Ah yes, the village has a jeepney toda, they don't like trikes I guess.

After missing yun dapat pupuntahan ko for the weekend coz of stress, work and errands, eh naisip go, let's go to that St. James bazaar. Eh, dream naman kasi ni Raims yun, and luckily she does not only have a stall but also business partners. Good year for her.

Actually, it's my bad because I already informed 2 friends na Monday ako pupunta, but unfortunately, I changed my mind in the last minute.

Si William, well, nun niyaya ko siya kahapon eh matutulog muna siya bago pumunta. Si Joanne, Monday pupunta.

Good thing there is Claire na malapit lang sa URCI and ayun, madali ko nayaya.hehe Ah, speaking of URCI, pumunta muna ako dun, have some talk, and great lunch. I miss that place. Very missed place. I love living at the south. Damn. hehe Oh it's a miracle I did have a good lunch cooked by Ate. Mukhang ngayon lang ako nakatikim ng masarap na luto niya. At di na chicken lang alam niya. Improvement since I lived there before. Peace! Hahaha

Ah yes, before I left home, I downloaded the movies I want before I downgrade the package sa DSL. The reason behind that. Well, benjamins. hehe

Anyway, I left then went to URCI, after lunch, I met Claire and rode a jeep papuntang, my fave mall, ATC.

Unfortunately, we don't have time to stroll kasi kailangan makabalik ako shop early. hehehe

After some time, we thought may free shuttle papunta inside that posh village. What I remember years ago, especially halloween, na parang walang jeep or tricycle dun. We can't find any shuttle, or free shuttle, but naturo sa min ng mga driver sa terminal na may jeep papunta sa loob.

We did find that green jeepney terminal, tapos eto na, may gate pass pa. Wow. Before you ride a jeep, you need to get a gate pass from a sekyu. As usual, tanong kung saan, sabi naman sa bazaar, tanong na naman kung for what, sabi namin shoppers. Fill out the crappy forms, leave an ID then sakay sa jeep.

9 bucks? Long ride...

Well, when the jeep turned left sa entrance ng village tapos biglang bumaba kami. Sabi ko, 9 pesos na yun!!!! Peste naman, eh pwede naman lakarin ha.

Maling akala. hehehe

Icheck pala nun mga guards yun hawak namin papel, eh kukunin nila. Naman. hehe

Then balik sa jeep, tapos, yes, posh waiting. hehe

While talking to Claire, napapansin ko na parang ang tagal ha. Parang dadalhin kami sa dulo ng walang hanggang. hehe

Parang nagbiyahe ako sa Fairview, ang layo naman ng bazaar na yun. At the middle of the ride, may dalawang nice looking ladies, at sumakay sila sa jeep. Ah they look like high school girls pero high class. Posh kids. hehehe

After a very long ride, at last, we're here at Cuenca bazaar. It has a tag line of more than 600 concessionaires, so it's big. Big posh bazaar.

We went looking for Raims' stall and while looking, aba may ambulance, may pa raffle, bring me whatever, and most especially, posh people. May mga artista pa. hehe Chicks, oh man, it's heaven, this is where eyes go blind because of beauty. Damn. hehe

We were able to find yun stall ni Raims, at of course pinakilala niya yun mga partners niya. And while standing, grabe yun bazaar, so packed kaya yun mga stalls dikit dikit, and the ambulance has a purpose, baka may mahimatay sa sobrang dami ng tao, actually parang di pa max yun. hehe

Pero well, labas muna kami ni Claire to breathe. Oh yes, a lot of breathing. It's hot, crowded and chaotic so whew.

Ah, while waiting for the other friend that has also a stall, eh usap usap lang kami ni Claire about life.

Well, she has a hard life right now, good thing she kinda let it out, ang sabi ko nga, parang may pattern talaga ang mga Reyes sa buhay. Peste. hehe

I won't really give details on that, but in the end, we just say na don't give up, you have friends and continue on the things you love to do. Sayang naman kasi, pero I know she realized it naman. Ang kakatawa, kaya pala niya joke joke lang daw para to keep her going other than weeping hard every moment.

So, we find yun isa kong friend malapit sa emergency exit and surprising na parang may space or hangin pa sa stall na yun. We did find her and ayun kwento about sa bazaar at sa world trade bazaar na sobrang olats daw so the only hard thing was the ventilation talaga. Hehe Parang ka nag gym sa init and sikip. Crap indeed.

We decided to buy them to eat, something cold and came to our surprises, not the ATM booths or the dreaded BIR booth, but well, how do you compress 600 stalls, use a lot of space. So parang may tent 2 pa pala. hehe Food court then some kinda dapitan arcade, decors and etc. Naisip ko, parang hirap puntahan yun ha. hehe

We scouting the food and since you're in a posh village, in a posh bazaar, don't expect cheap foods. Ang cheap malamang yun sorbetes, other than that, oh of course, yun Halo Halo. hehe Damn mineral water, it's 35 pesos for 500 ml or less ata, basta yun na lang binili ko. hehe

We got back, bring the halo halo and at least, nawala yun init ng ulo nila. hehe

Some chit chat with Raims and plans for the la vista which is on Dec 12-13, it's the village near miriam college, be there! hehe Bazaar whatever, for greater cause, if any.

We were kinda hurry and ayun, we walking crazy kung paano bumalik sa bus terminal pabalik Manila. Great, panay tanong namin sa guard at saan naman kami dinala. Pesteng village, posh waiting. hehe

Ah, we did find the free shuttle, unfortunately, free shuttle around the village pala. Kaya di namin makita yun sa labas. Aysus!!! For short, walang silbi. Ah mayrun pala, sila nagturo kung saan kami magandang maghintay ng jeep. No cab, yes we tried that. Of course, no trike.

Like 10 minutes plus the 10 minutes walking around where to find the jeep, we did find one. You won't believe this, the one we rode going inside the village, is the also the one we rode going back ATC. So parang walang cutting trip sa village. Talagang posh village, they have posh rules. hehehe

Anak ng tokwa, well, it's better than late than sorry. Oh crap, I am late going back and there nasa ATC na kami.

Tired, shocked and happy because we saw friends and stars? Nah. hehe

Marami nakatira dun artista and they have one thing in common, they walk fast. hehe

Jeez. Anyway, so Claire got home first kasi BFRV lang naman while me, it's a long ride. While going back in QC, well, I want to sleep but I can't. However, I thought that ok din pala pumunta dun, at least di ba, checking your friends and happy to see on what they are doing. Even it's hard, and tiring, in a way, when they hear that the products they sell is good, parang ok na sayo yun. Yun gawa mo nagustuhan nila at marami sila, sulit ang pagod mo.

Ako naman, hmmm ok lang din, kaso since retail ako, kailangan marami eh. hehe Pero I'm happy, very happy.

Oh well, I got back sa shop, done some paper work and went home, drained. Damn. hehe Yet satisfied for the day. Naisip ko nga ganun din ako next year, kaso parang ang hirap maglagay ng cell shop and magtitinda ka lang for 4 days tops? Nah, parang loading station na lang, kaso naisip ko, hmmmm postpaid naman sila lahat? hehehe Pero ang sure, next year they're there and we will do it again, sana may car na. Bwahahaha

Posh living, in a way, might go two ways, one in posh heaven or posh hell. Your choice.

Ah William? Yes, he woked up 6pm. 3 times more hours he promised to get up. hehe

5. Ideal Girl

Well, as you see, I do have standards, but sometime you will think the right one for you. Standards only give you at least some of the qualities you want. But Ideal, I think is almost all the things you want to have. Qualities of a girl you want to be with.

Nah, not a perfect girl you can say that but it's more like molding your type of clay.

Or the real type of girl you want, that you think you will be compatible with.

After 2 years of booze, cutting classes and crap learning, got lucky to be in a good sked and a good section.

While reading at a corridor, reading some managerial eco crap book for some quiz and all of a sudden I asked something to a girl, classmate pala then yeah Q & A then about the subject, precom section and that's it. Yes, that's it..

I went back to the room and read again. That's how studious freak I am that time. Then after days, even though she is my classmate, I never mind going to her or what, it's mostly with Ivan and indot Al. hehe A month passes by, while waiting for the prof, or kill some time, kinda coincidence talking to her, hi or hello or conversation bout life and sort of then that's the time I thought, hey get to know her better, in the sense of friendship.

As you see, the only lady friends I have that time, are 3 of them, remnants from 2cpm. hehe Smart remnants.

As time goes by, chatting there and here, phone, usual chatting and eventually, going out with other classmates. We did go out once, but as friendly date. Nothing like uyyy. hehe Nah, let me clear that.

Ok, how it fall apart? Gossip really kills. Hehehe I mean up to this moment, I don't know who the hell spread gossip that at that time I'm going to like court her which is not. At that point, nah, I don't have any plans, why? She's in a relationship at that time, and she has problems with it and I'm not that go getter. Well, because of that it killed the friendship and it lasted at least.

But I forgive that person. It's just man, maybe she thought I was the one bragging about that, but not. However, that's life and I asked sorry for her and she accepted it I guess.

Anyway, why she is Ideal one? Hmmmm you know what, the real time I did fall for her was the time I lost her. In the sense of her qualities, I mean beautiful lady, typical standards of mine yet you add very religious person and smart. Up to now, I haven't find that kind of girl. I know she not perfect but when I talk to her, it's like fun eventhough you're talking about serious topics and it's just light up your day. Very serious person as well like me.

That's what made her my Ideal one. I knew that if we indeed became together, I'll do everything for her, make happy and love like that. Every single moment. hehe

When I saw her again this year, I told to myself, damn.. Why I let her pass? Oh well, I gave myself a sad sigh and indeed let go. It's over. Good thing was I did see her and she's still in high spirits and still the Ideal Girl I know.

She still blossoms in every angle I see.

Parang nakita ko siya at the last days staying in Dell. hehe Naisip ko, well, US have strong censors, Japan, do they have censors? hehe Lastly, UK, not only banning the film but also in DVD release as well? Wow, kinda marketing campaign especially with a tagline that says saw and hostel were just appetisers, edi, mas matindi to?!

Well, nadownload na matagal na, convert it sa zune then, an hour later, ayun, kakapanood ko lang kanina. Good grief...

Let's go to japanese horror stuff, or cinema horror stuff history.

Well, kahit bata ko, I watched horror films, poltergeist! Naku, naman. Wag yun. hehe Or the exorcist, jaws and old school favorites.

As we get old, and became a fan of watching movies, of course, di mawawala yun pagiging fan ng other movie genre's. Then I discovered, japanese horror. It was referred by Kuya Allan's friend, to watch some of it, Axel, nasan na kaya siya? hehe

Anyway, not the Ring, but the first Japanese horror I watched, well, Ichi the killer. Then Visitor Q, then Audition. Takashi Miike films. Then, battle royale, which I think not a horror film, but parang lang. hehe

Then siyempre US horror films, hmmm Saw II, Hostel, and friday the 13th, tapos others to mention, crap naman kasi. hehe Then sa UK, wicker man, and shaun of the dead, kaso comedy naman pero wicker man, grabe galing! Clockwork pala, of course..

Pero may iba pa, na di ko napapanood, like Salo as Ivan suggest, always. hehe Hmmmm Videodrome na nabitin naman ako kasi sa youtube lang, pero madownload na din at marami pa. Naku, gamit na gamit yun DSL. hehe

Anyway, still Japanese horror films are just over the top. I mean remove the spiritual or tradition concept like sa the ring or ju-on. I mean real horror, mukhang advance sila, and mind you, in a low budget film.

And Grotesque, is one of them.

I can't believe I finished the film. hehe Why? Well, story is, I don't kung story talaga, simple. A couple just finished their simple first date, then walked to a tunnel, then they were smashed by a hammer by some dude.

Tapos pag gising nila, ayun nasa basement at well, ano sa tingin mo, magtitinginan na lang silang tatlo? Of course, the weird dude, tortured them. Great.

Ah yes, I got the film, in swedish subs, so I am sorry, I didn't understand any single dialogue (kaya dapat magaral na ko ng japanese) hehe. But what the hell you need those subs anyway when you know the couple will be killed. hehe

Well, di ko madiscribe how every torture is done to them. I mean, ewwwww. hehe I was screaming, niyak, wag!!!! Kaso wala na ang daliri, kamay, mata. Hay, it's never ending mayhem.

And well, like the BBFC says, no development in the story, characters, and some scenes that I think really decided to banned this film. Well, mukhang tama nga sila. hehe

Well, because of that, many were interested.

Including me, then ayun biglang may scene na nasa hospital sila, nagpapagaling, may dialogue tapos the last scenes, ayun na naman. Waaah!!!! The last scenes, I don't think you can't put that on Saw or Hostel. Kasi dapat patay na sila di ba? Or kung talagang kaya pa, ewan, mamatay pa din sila. hehe

Kakatawa din yun ending, sumigaw pa nga, dapat patay na yun hayop na yun, kaso may kasamang buenas talaga. hehe

Well, any positive for this film?

Music, classical background, great, unfortunately for a bad film.

Actors, noong una, sabi ko, sobrang low budget talaga, pero they did there part, especially at the end. Lalo na yun girl, akalain mo AV actress pala, pero mukhang hindi. hehe

Effects, mukhang this will stand out. I thought I am watching a real thing, ang hirap yun effect, CGI and make up if there is any, grabe. Whew, I don't think in this kind of film, you don't need a director. Well, you need one, but siguro kahit yun FX supervisor na lang. hehe

and the effect pa din. hehe

Good thing, I didn't eat anything for dinner, as usual. Or eating while watching this one.

I enjoyed watching it. And thought of watching some of those japanese extreme stuff. I can say, mas ok pa din yun visitor Q than this. Kasi yun Q, may plot kahit papano, pero slight advantage lang. Unlike this one. hehe Simple to almost no plot and like I said, pure torture porn.

Do I recommend this?

Hmmmm for a date movie yes! Bwahahaha

Nah, if you have a lot of extra time, sige. But if you're a serious film fan and kinda selective or sensitive or curious one like me, go ahead. Hehe

But for those, just want to watch a movie, it's not for you. Just watch New Moon instead.

By the way, naisip ko, bakit pa nilagay ng director yun unrated version sa opening sequence.

Kung rated version pala, edi parang 20 mins lang yun film. Parang short film na walang kwenta and for TV pwede na kasi tanggalin mo lahat ng basement scenes. hehe

the Guys can't handle Vegas!

I wish I was Alan, who is a total jerk yet in the end, saves the day, at least. Hehe I wish I was Stu who is paranoid about his chick yet she cheated to him. However, he got Jade in the end. Nice. Hehe How about Doug, who is going to be married, unfortunately, if you're too good and kind, you will be ending up in the roof. hehe

And my dude, Phil, come on! He's a school teacher remember. Ok? hehe I thought he's a slacker, but good thing, keeping the 3 dudes together just to look for Doug.

Well, I did watch the Hangover. 4 friends embark to a journey to Las Vegas, like a bachelor's party for Doug, who is getting married next day.

At pag gising nila next day, di nila alam kung ano nangyari sa kanila at ang masama pa, di nila mahanap yun ikakasal, same day. The wedding day. Ayos, grabe, sana pinanood ko sa sine to with my brothers. hehe Like we did sa tropic thunder.

Anyway, first scene is about yun, Phil calling Tracy, the bride to be, na nagsosorry na kasi di nila mahanap yun groom, Doug then flashes back to ano ginawa nila. Kaso, after the roof scene, ayun, parang nasa kankungan yun tatlo. Sobrang wasak for short. hehe

Alan, the weird dude, woke up without his pants, take a leak then sa banyo, may tiger. Yes, a tiger. He freaked tapos nagising niya si phil na sa sahig at mukhang walang nangyari or parang di siya nasaktan or what, simpleng lasing. hehe Stu, doctor este dentist, eh gising na tanggal ang isang ngipin. Ayos. hehe At ayun nag freak out about his card and kanyang fiance, di niya tinawagan for short, report kay commander. hehe

Then they all wake up, tried to look for Doug, which unfortunately, lost. Di na nila alam, kung nasan siya, at masaklap pa dun, di na nila alam kung ano nangyari kagabi. hehe

Sobrang wasak silang apat. Kung buhay pa yun isa. hehe

So, they like detectives, searching for clues but the clues they are looking for just shows up as a consequences they've done in just one night. From getting married, bringing the tiger at home, playing blackjacks and winning big, tapos di nila alam may naloko silang chinese badet boss. hehe Even naloko nila si Tyson for the tiger. hehe

It's just a wacky and crazy journey for those dudes. A night really forgotten. Bwahahaha

I love the movie, it's really a surprise comedy movie. Many scenes I really laughed at it, marami ako gusto eh, pero yun isa talaga yun nagulat ako eh paano nila nakuha yun tiger. Loko loko si Phil, sayang gwapo pa naman kaso, matindi pala, kahit tigre sige lang banat. hehehe

Ah, the final scenes of course, lalo na yun credits. Dapat ang director's cut nun eh yun ginawa nila pinakita nila sa film, not in digi cam style lang or pictures. Hehe Kaso magiging 2 dalawang oras ata yun. Pero, dapat may scenes talaga sila.

The cast is great, perfect for each character. Example, the four dudes, Heather Graham as Jade, hot. hehe Even the chinese dude, which I saw in Knocked up, then pineapple express and other comedy films, damn he's funny. All of them are great. Even Stu's fiance, she's pain in the arse. hehe

Well, I thought, since apat sila, paano kaya kung yun CRAP talaga yun nandun. Si Rheg yun Doug, (sobrang gwapo ata for Rheg. bwahahaha) Si Stu, si Doc Ian siyempre, bagay lang, lalo na yun commander. hehehe Si Alan, ako eh, kaso di naman ako sobrang weird like he did in the roof na may sulat and blood compact pa. Grabe tawang tawa ako dun. hehehe Si Igz na yun. hehe

Siyempre, I pick the best guy, Phil, kaso I don't have that hair. I can't be Mike Tyson. hehe

Good movie for the barkada talaga. Malamang pag napanood yun tatlo to, eto din sasabihin nila. Hehe

I thought, well, we don't need to go Vegas to do that here, I think.

Kahit sa bahay nila Igz lang siguro pwede na. I mean, gising kami sobrang wasak tapos wala si Rheg, then we'll kinda ganun din gagawin namin. Parang saya. Hehehe

Moral lesson of the movie, find the digital camera first when you can't find any clues.

Another lesson, just don't go to Vegas if you think you can handle it. Be sure first, you can really handle it.

I don't think that will be applicable for those 4 friends. hehe

Jupiter and beyond the Infinite

After one and half hours of watching nostalgic visuals, I am guessing, what will happen to that astronaut?

This is about the film 2001: A space odyssey. How I discovered this magnificent film? Way back some a decade ago perhaps, in Philippine TV, there was a channel called CTV 31. Because of that channel, I found E! channel, and some good ol movies. I saw the movies like seven samurai, hmmmm, rashomon which I didn't finish, Mad Max and yes, 2001, not the prince song. hehe

After watching that film at that time. Well, since I was only a kid, I thought of what was that, but it's great. Visuals, music, damn good, I asked, is that a new film?

As we got old and thank God for the internet, I discovered that it was made circa 1968! But it did not change my taste on that movie. It still gave me that feeling of a adventure, space and sci fi adventure. A journey to the mystery of space.

Now, I believe a month or 2 months ago, I got the film. There was a boring time at the shop and thought of well, watch it at my zune.. hehe Well, at first, let me say, that it was kinda boring, thanks to the music, it kept me going watching this movie, and of course the visuals.

First part was really a boring part, and it's part of the story. The second part gets you in the story. The astronaut father just says hi to his daughter and the end of that part, goner. hehe Unfortunately, I don't know what happen to that dude. Poor dad. Until now, I don't know if he is dead or what, but what I know that astronaut got some bad headache.

Third part, is the amazing part. I mean, this is your great sci fi part or a good sci fi film kicks in. I mean, no action sequences but it shows or what Stanley wants to show you. Space exploration at it's simple form. For him. hehe

Walking in space, travelling, then cool spaceships, which I don't know if that will be created in real time, and most of all, the self proclaimed accurate computer HAL9000.

As the story goes at that part, things kinda getting wrong there. The computer is getting nuts. hehe He lied then, starts killing the astronauts, until he was killed by Dave. Good job, but the madness doesn't end there.

Yes, the final part, which until now, I really don't understand it. Even I searched it in numerous websites, google or whatever, I think, I need to read the book. Well, Dave became old then reborn again. On the course of those scenes, it's like a maze, and daze. Great editing, and great pacing, even without dialogue. I was and still confused but in the end I realized, still a great experience. Not only a great movie.

So, comparing it when I watched it at CTV 31 and this age, of course, the latter is better. Thanks to torrent and zune. hehe

The movie, sends some messages, I am not good at it, but one thing is for sure, that we are not alone in this universe and it maybe, something greater than us already know that we humans are coming to them. Whoever or whatever they are, it's more powerful than us. That's the sci fi concept, the film 2001 showing to us.

Like I said, it's a great experience, not only a great movie. It's like a ride to outer space in the comfort of your seat. hehe I mean, you don't need to pay around $15 million dollars just to be a space tourist these days, for me 2001 it's just enough. Hehe Most of the sci fi movies gives you chills, thrills, good action, suspense but only some gives you to think. And this is one of them.

Scary but nah, it's kinda intellectual in the sense if that black monolith does really help or harm the human race. I can't tell..

Oh, the visuals are stunning, remember I thought it's a new film at that time I saw it when I was a kid. Especially the last part where Dave is transporting in a different dimension, I don't know how Stanley created that, easy..

Music? Damn, good and perfect for such movie. I mean every music score at that movie is perfect. Each scene has the perfect music on it. I can say my favorite one is the beginning. Actually, all of them, like the scene where we travel the space base, or even the last parts. The orchestra mood and classical music really fits in that movie and gives you a different light feeling watching the movie. Without that music, I don't think the movie will be a classic, or even good.

It will be a very very boring movie.

It's not a perfect movie, some little flaws, like yes, not much dialogue for a 2 hour movie. And the only movie I think I watched in my lifetime, that there was an intermission. Time to pee. Hehe I skipped that part.

So, I dreamed to be an astronaut or pilot wayback when I was a kid. Because of watching starwars or like this film. Travelling to space, very interesting.
