flashbacks: ACN

Nakita ko yun isa sa mga dati kong TL kanina from the Feast. Well, binati naman ako. hehe Anyway, time really flies fast. Last year eh, di ko alam kung mareregular ako kasi sa dami ng absent. Now, pretty confident in a different company. hehe It was a unusual experience for me being at Accenture. When I heard I passed the final interview and need to pass my requirements, biglaan naman ako nagpaalam sa TL ko in Stellar. After 3 tries, including noong after college attempts.. I passed! Di ko akalain na makakabawi ako at mabuti sa malapit na site lang. hehe

Nearer at my home, Cubao pa. Wow. Well, after that a lot of clearance and requirements, I worked and it was a night shift. Ah! There was a one day orientation. New employee orientation which nakatabi ko pa yun maarteng Koreana. But she's beautiful pero di na, kung ganun naman siya kaarte sa food at umasta. hehe Anyway, yes, I worked and my job, at last, way different than any other worked I've done. AR.. Accounts receivable for a shipping company which I'm surprised that there was this existed and that company is big. I saw one of their offices at the south, even it looks a fire station. hehe Then, pagkatapos ng dalawang linggo sa dati kong work, aba, start agad. Geez.. They need people to work. hehe Well, kahit night shift eh tinaggap ko na, but I've never thought na dahil dun eh mahihirapan ako. I admit na sinubukan ko magadjust, pero nung natutulog ako na katabi yun OM ko, that's the time I felt, na mukhang di na kaya. 

It's the first work that I worked side by side with other SME or enterprises accounting division. 
Chasing payments not pavements. Sending invoices and explaining kung kailan sila magbayad. 
Nagtatanong kung paano bayaran nila at may iba na napakalaki nga ng company, anak ng tinapa naman magbayad, napakahirap singilin! hehe Nakakagulat, kung sino pa yun mga malalaki at mahal ang benta ng products, sila pa yun maarte at complicated magbayad. It was challenging inside and out. But I can say it was interesting kasi I have an idea how these companies behave when it comes to payments. Well, siyempre benefits are good, especially yun naopera sa kin. Laking tulong yun at I'm saved. Grabe yun health benefits, first time ko talagang nasulit. Yun nga lang, dahil di din ako nakakatulog ng maayos. hehe Pay was good, better in the sense because every week you get paid lalo na may night allowance kasi. 15th and 30th pay then in between that, allowances. 

About the training, first time na wala ako kasama sa training. Ah sorry mayrun pala kaso nung nakita yun portfolio niya, ayun ilan linggo na umalis na. hehe Pero not like in a classroom set up, but like mentoring at instinct na lang kung baga paano matuto. hehe Mabait naman si ate magturo pero minsan wala ako naiintindihan. hahaha Pero joke lang, magaling yun nagturo sa kin lalo na sa excel. 

Speaking of excel, yun mga natutunan ko basic, anak ng tinapa, walang kwenta dito. Kailangan marunong ka gumawa ng graph, tapos table, tapos vlookup... Grabe.. Mabuti fast fingers and learner ako. hehe Pero now, unlearn ko na, I'll try it again. Ah yes, grabe, eto lang yun company na kailangan mo magtraining.. I mean, you will have a day or hours off from work para itraining lang yun skills mo. Sa dami na napasukan ko, parang eto lang yun naencourage na magtraining ka. hehe Kaya sulit din. Ano pa.. Grabe din ang pakain, pero siyempre magpapakain ka, eh sulit naman kasi lagi naman sila nagpapakain sa pwede kumain sa station. hahaha 

Other perks, hmmmm Ah kasi sa laki ng corporation na to, eh self service lahat, from payslip, disputes, and other info you need, eh self service. Which is ok naman except from my other inquiries I had na di ko alam kung nakakaintindi yun HR na nakausap ko o training pa lang. hehe Ah the team.. first time after a long time na wala pa sa 7 ang team namin. Kasama na yun TL. Saka it's a big account sa isang team kasi it's by country... So talagang ang hirap umabsent or leave kasi yun accounts mo napakarami o kung kaunti lang, napakahirap naman. 

Masaya naman ang team kaso siyempre mahirap pumetiks. hahaha Saka unlike before na kahit night shift, nagkakasama kayo sa break or lunch.. Dito, wala na. hehe I'm kinda introvert at yes, siyempre laging inaantok. Lastly, a bonus for me.. I joined a contest sa company to represent the Philippines para sa blog or news in each of the region. I just sent an email and ayun, kahit papano eh naka 4 months ako nakacontribute sa blog. hehe Nakatsamba pa. 

So, still why I left? Hmmmm good question.. Nung nagstart ang second half of the year, including when I start working at night, talagang di na ko nakaadjust. Yun nagaayos sa min na templo eh di ako makatulog at the morning well, kasi sa umaga talaga ako nakakauwi. Tapos dagdag mo pa yun responsibility to Gerro and yes, sometimes the house. At health wise, lalo na after december, I just can't rest. Dagdag mo pa yun nasira yun bahay and need to fix and that.. It was a whirlwind year until this early part ng taon na to. Mahirap pero ayun, at the end, I just can't do it despite kahit gusto ko pumasok, kaso stress was that much and I can't finish it. It was a hard decision and risky one. 

Now, I can say, I moved on and now, I'm preparing for a new path again. Tinatapos ko na lang yun mga ginagawa ko ngayon. hehe Ilan buwan na lang. But I learned from ACN eh, indeed high performance. High performance not only by numbers but relationship sa clients. First time ko nakatrabaho na pinay in Canada ha. Sakit sa ulo! hahaha I mean working with a client, being proactive at sobrang doing everything to reach goals. Every work you do counts talaga. Ano pa.. Yun lang. hehe Saka siyempre how AR works not only in our end pero other big companies work. Grabe, they make it complicated and worse, end up not paying on time.. Saka glimpse on how accounting works. Interesting. Saka yun culture na tulungan, na di naman nawala. I can say, although its short, its worth to be there. Even abrupt. 

Well, after that sleepless nights.. A new morning comes. Umaga lang.
