If not all Jdramas are good, how about asadora? Even taiga drama in NHK had some bad eggs. For example Hana Moyu, na kahit sobrang galing ng cast, its just boring at sobrang bagal.
Ilan episodes na lang!!! After watching the 148 plus ones, eh salamat natapos na kagabi at nakatulog pa ko. How I discovered this one? Noong tinignan ko yun list ng asadora due to my curiousity sa wiki. Siyempre 90 plus yun at malamang halos lahat di ko kilala, some nagulat ako may mga sikat ngayon or di masyado sikat na may asadora. The lowest rating ever, is this, Welkame. At mukhang wala pa nakakatalo. hahaha
Paano naman kasi.. Ang daming flaws or not good about this asadora. Factors that I can made the ratings low and I was surprised na asadora siya. I survived finishing the 150 episodes of it, great thing, 15 mins lang siya. hehe
First of all, anak ng tinapa.. Why the story was not really interesting? I mean, nagsimula siya na takot yun batang Nami sa "kame", turtle in japanese, tapos nainspire magsulat kasi nakita niya yun editor in chief then yun na start ng story. Pero may mga moments na dramatic or talagang malas si Nami, pero di siya kung baga, serious enough para icheer or yes.. Root for. Grabe, sumakit ulo, parang yun ibang parts ng story parang kulang sa drama, or even fun. Kahit RAW yun napanood ko, eh bakit yun Teppan, natuwa ako. hehehe Raw talaga yun almost all episodes.
Second, siyempre kung di masaya or interesting yun kwento, bland yun most of the episodes, kasi naman, wala naman nangyayari milestone sa buhay niya. May ibang important events pero di naman important, for example, yun friend ni Nami na nanganganak na.. Aba parang 2 weeks din yun ha. Umay. hehe Marami pa yun. Lalo na sa mga bandang gitna ng story. Grabe, kung pwede lang fast forward. hehe
Third, setting is nice pero yun setting ng ibang place, parang ang compact. Kung baga, yun bahay ni Nami, lagi napupuntahan ng family niya at yun resto na weird yun set up.. Parang naisip ko, bakit pa lumipat si Nami kung most of the episodes eh from office to their own house/inn eh nakakapunta siya. hehe Basta naisip ko, well kung malayo talaga di ba, pero sana may time na talagang alone si Nami like other asadoras, kaso bihira lang yun.
Fourth, yes, ang bagal ng pace. I mean, most of the episodes, I did not focus on it kasi kahit ma miss mo yun dialogue, eh parang wala naman namiss. hehehe Nag pick up lang siya, last 5 weeks of the asadora. Poor thing. I was also expecting na sobrang marami magbago pero wala in the end, simple lang yun ending. I think to blame for these poor factors, eh yun writer and director. Geez.. Di man lang naging interesting yun story or even dramatic.
Siyempre, not all fails sa asadora na ito, some things helped kaya natapos ko ito. Una sa lahat, eh yun cast kahit ganun yun story, ok yun cast. Maraming characters dito na ok lang. Other than Nami, yun fave ko supporting characters eh yun family niya, yun husband niya saka yun ex president ng magazine na pinagtrabaho niya. Dalawa pala sila. hehe Lalo na yun italian na nakacast dun, galing maghapon. hehe Nakakatawa yun isang week na nagsuot ng mascot si Nami para mapromote yun Hotshin, grabe, naging comedy yun week na yun. hehe Yun effort nandun, lalo na yun father ni Nami. Yun artistang yun, serious sa ibang jdrama, pero dito, laid back na tatay. Ayos siya. hehe
Second, ok yun vibe ng story. Kahit mabagal at boring, fun siya at some moments. Dahil nga wala masyadong serious events, fun yun mga ibang episodes at interesting din like yun setting nila sa beach saka yun ano ano pinaggagawa ng family ni Nami and yun hotshin magazine. Puro inom at kain lang ginagawa. hehe At siyempre work din. Saka kahit papano yun love team ni Nami and yun naging asawa niya, may fun moments, lalo na yun first time nagkita sila after maghiwalay sila nung bata pa. Oh, Third reason I like this one, yun intro song niya, one of the best. Hirap nga hanapin sa net. Bad trip. hahaha Cool and light lang yun kanta, kakaadik.
Lastly, ang primary reason kung bakit ako nagtagal dito.. Kurashina Kana!!!!! I have no idea about her, pero nung nakita ko yun ibang jdrama na kasama siya.. I was curious, pag tinitigan mo matagal, maganda siya. Well, checked on google, ayun na. hahahaha Naadik na, kaya kahit panget yun jdrama, I need to check her out. Miss Swimsuit 2006 right? Hmmmmmm hehe. At lalo ako nagpursige panoorin at pagtyagaan eh may gravure vids pala siya bago mag Welkame, after those 2 videos.. I don't care watching the crappy show basta makita siya. hehe Bad trip sa asadora na ito, balot siya and her hairstyles for 148 episodes were not nice. Pinapanget siya kung baga. Bad trip talaga. Tiyaga na lang!!! hehe Not even one episode na pinakita yun curves niya. Naman. hehe
Well, ok naman siya actress and sa welkame, siya naman nagdala although blame the production crew, sulit to as jdrama or comedy jdrama siguro pero as asadora, sayang lang talent niya. Pero pag ngiti niya or any reaction in her face.. Sulit na sulit. hahaha I can't believe na NHK made some gravure models or great looking actresses na mag asadora. It's a risk pero most of them did not do well, like Eikura Nana's Hitomi or Natsuna's Jun to Ai na mukhang ok naman. Unfortunately, the lowest rating, goes to Kurashina Kana. Malas naman niya. Darn..
Anyway, hmmmm worth watching again? I'll just save it na lang for Kana. hehe Yun pre show episode na lang panoorin ko ulit. hahahaha

Eto yun 3rd Asadora napanood ko na. Pinili ko ito ireview kasi medyo madali kaysa sa Gegege no Nyobo. hehe Actually kahit raw episodes from episodes 42-151, di ko no pinansin kung may sub. Ganun ako naadik dito sa asadora na to.
Well, it has a simple premise.. Si Akari, sa paglaki niya and graduating high school, biglang may pumuntang matandang babae sa bahay nila.. Hinahanap yun anak niya nawawala for 18 years, at yun na.. Nalaman ni Akari, ampon lang siya ng pamilya niya. At yun matandang babae nakausap niya, lola niya pala. Simple story pero it's dramatic premise lalo na pagtagal ng story.
Siyempre may mga parts na ayoko sa asadora na to.. Dalawa lang naman, una may character na pumasok at the middle of the story na bwisit na bwist ako. I don't know the character's name, dahil Raw nga napanood ko, parang anak siya nung isang katrabaho ni Akari or whatever, annoying character plus the actress as well. hehe Basta ayoko siya. Lalo na yun nangyari sa kanya sa huli, pampagulo. Pangalawa, love life ni Akari magulo. I mean usually sa asadora, it's either ayaw ng love life ng heroine or marami nangliligaw sa kanya at nakakapili naman agad. Like in Mare, grabe siya, may date siya dalawa tapos sa huli, nag asawa agad. hahaha
Dito, grabe, edi walang love life si Akari sa una, tapos yun may mga gusto sa kanya, mga nakakabad trip na characters. Yun nagustuhan ni Akari, ang angas ng dating. Bwisit din. Basta for short, panget love life niya, walang kilig. hehe
Yun lang naman problema niya. After 151 episodes, first thing I love sa asadora na to, kahit di siya fun, very dramatic naman siya. May ilang episodes medyo naiyak ako. 2 great examples, one yun part paano sila nagkabati si Akari at Hatsune, yun lola niya, nakakatouch naman yun. Another one, yun nagkita si Akari at yun tunay niyang tatay. It's emotional di yun sa tunay na tatay niya but yun foster family ni Akari. Kasi kaw ba, papayag na lang kunin yun anak mo na biglaan? Siyempre hindi. At naintindihan naman ng true father ni Akari. Actually yun drama scenes marami sa asadora na to kaya masasabi mo drama. Few fun moments pero di naman dull.
Another thing, yun aspect na pagkain, grabe yun nagpapagutom sa kin. hehe Lalo tuloy ako nagcrave sa okonomiyaki sa Osaka at Onomichi styles. Unfortunately, di siya like global dish like tempura or ramen. Wala naman ako makita na ganun dito. Grabe, parang di siya nakakasawa. Hahaha Sulit na agad. Kaya if palarin in the future, I'll eat that in japan. hehe
Lastly, the cast! I mean, despite low budget which I'll explain later. Magaling yun cast. Kahit at first ayoko ko yun artista, Takimoto Miori, pagtagal, I like her na. hehe Tapos yun supporting cast, they made their parts fit to them. Like yun mga kapatid ni Akari, tapos yun mga friends ni Akari sa Osaka, lalo na si Hatsune, ang galing niya talaga. Hatsune was played by Junko Fuji, at nakita ko na pinagmanahan ni Terajima Shinobu sa acting, kaya pala! hehe Lalo na yun mata, nanay nga siya ni Shinobu. The best supporting cast eh yun family ni Akari, specifically yun parents ni Akari. Grabe, bagay talaga si Endo Kenichi as tatay at mum si Yasuda Narumi. Galing nun dalawa yun not only as parents, but lovers I mean as husband and wife. Grabe, parang icheer mo si Kenichi as tatay and si Narumi naman, despite that deceiving look, galing niya mag act as nanay pero beautiful pa din. hahaha That beauty of hers, I mean she can defeat other actresses now. She is doing modelling for clothing line or if you look sa pictures, grabe, ang ganda niya pa din. Despite her very old age. Not very bad. haha Lalo na yun jdrama na bida si Goriki, it's a long title but that series, galing niya as Goriki's mum kahit mukha lang silang magkapatid. Interesting fact, Yasuda Narumi also lead an asadora, 20 plus years ago. When I looked yun mga luma niyang picture, grabe.. Ngayon pics na lang tignan ko. hahaha
Well, galing nun ginawa ng NHK, very low budget asadora. Makikita mo naman sa setting, sa pinili nilang cast at yun story line, di grand like carnation, or amachan or other asadoras. Ohisama, the asadora after this, eh mukhang maganda, pero pagtagal ko nalang panoorin yun. Speaking of Miori, nagulat ako na there was a band, just a new all girl real band yun lead singer eh hot. hehe Looking back, siya na pala yun. Lagoon!
Sulit ang pagkaadik ko dito despite watching most of it, no sub. Self translation na lang. hehe
Sarap talaga nung okonomiyaki na yun, ginugutom tuloy ako! Teppan pala is the stove na ginagamit for cooking okonomiyaki. Yun parang sa burger pero ito, table type siya..

Jejejeje!! haha Dito pala nakuha ang expression na yun! I mean, hanggang ngayon tuwing naririnig ko yun opening theme niya, natutuwa ako. I admit, I got addicted to this. I mean.. Well, noong bata ako siyempre TV lang naman ang kaadikan at kung malas malas, telenovela sinunod ko even spanish ones, Marimar perhaps.
Korean came, well, Irene and Temptation of Wife which it has the same lead star, na kakagulat, may show siya ngayon sa umaga at same timeslot. Parang TV show lang siya lagi. But di ko naaddict to those Korean dramas except Endless Love one. Japanese came these days/months, well, hanggang shows lang naman ako and eiga. I have no idea about Asadora.. Until this show pops up sa drama sites.
After some 5 episodes, ayun na, just this last Saturday, I finished 156! Yosh! hahaha In Japan, rarely talaga like Korean or other countries soap opera. Ang mahaba lang siguro sa kanila, variety shows, comedy shows, then detective series na Aibou ata name, 13th season na kasi which I have no idea at iba pa. Ah NHK lang ang kaya to produce 2 long TV shows, I mean pantapat sa soap opera pero parang di competitor. Taiga which is about old times ng Japan and samurai period or Edo time. Asadora is about a heroine, mostly female lead na may goal sa buhay tapos it evolves na dun, trials, problems, failures and always ending up sometimes happy and fun. May iba nabasa ko, sad ending pero happy lahat, for short namatay yun iba. Yun iba, parang simple lang. Anyway, thanks to drama wiki for that and wikipedia.
Ok, enough for that short intro. First time ako gagawa ng review about Jdorama, so please just have fun reading it or if not, thanks for reading it. I added this kasi, just a new stuff to write on. Anyway..
For the simple intro, ah Aki and her mom Haruko went back sa kanilang hometown na Kitasanriku kasi may nagbalita na nagkasakit si lolang Natsu.. Pero pagbalik nila, at nakita nila na si Natsu eh wala naman sakit at nakakadive pa sa tubig, parang nagtaka sila bakit sila pinapunta dun.. That's how the story goes and a lot things happened, let's say Aki did a lot of things she wanted to. Pero very happy ending!
Of course, some faults of the series.. Pero minor lang, sana naimprove nila. First, sorry sa spoilers ah Yui, yun best ni Aki na despite pinakita na natrain siya mag dive, (Amachan title kasi Ama is a woman diver in north ish Japan), wala naman scene na pinakita nagswim siya or kahit nagsama sila ni Aki magdive. Naisip ko, budget and time contraints. hehehe Another one, eto sana talagang pinahaba nila, yun time na sana pinahaba sikat si Aki sa tokyo. Yun Idol arc kung baga. Ang galing kasi naisip nila kung paano siya sumikat mag isa after matanggal sa Idol group. Sayang, sana pinahaba nila yun arc na yun. Kaso after siya magshoot ng film well, nagearthquake, uwi agad sa province. Kaasar. hehe Pero siguro nga hahaba pa sa 156 episodes ang siste.
Yun lang naman. Pero ano ba. Hahaha I'm telling yun, simple lang, for the past weeks like in my past post, I just want to have a happy time or moment. Fun perhaps.. Eh, yun lang, napasobra ako sa addict. Natapos ko yun series in a week. So yun lang iiwasan niyo. hehe Pero I recommend this series. If you can watch just one episode a day, ok lang I mean 15 mins lang naman isa. That's how great this series is.
First is yun devolpment ng story. Lalo na yun characters, that's why unlike Massan (another asadora well, search niyo na lang) na kahit ilang episodes mo namiss, parang kaunti lang nagbago. This one, skip mo 5 episodes, parang nagiba na agad yun characters for a while. Whether it's sad or fun, eh talagang panoorin mo every episode on top pa yun development ng story. In 156 episodes, siguro pwede mo lang mamiss, naisip ko mga 10 episodes lang. Hehe I don't know, that's what I felt. Pero galing nung nagsulat. At siyempre, the director na kahit 15 mins per episode eh di bigay lahat in every episode.
Another, the story itself, I know it's simple pero dahil sa development ng story eh nagiging complex at simple ulit in sometime. Parang maraming climax sa story kasi dami kasing gusto gawin ni Aki. hahaha Pero may nareach naman kahit papano sila. So, nakakatuwa lang everytime na may mangyayari. At dun sa sad parts, talagang almost tearjerky. Not only made sense but a great story.
Isa pa, informative! I mean, educational ito lalo na sa kin na kala ko Ama eh talagang hubad lahat. hahaha I mean, I saw that in the old times na topless sila pero dahil sa well, indecent yun, eh now ganun sila nakadamit na saka grabe yun effort nila magdive. Kala ko pag pumunta ako dun, may ganun pa topless! hahaha Geez, kaya siguro yun mga mangingisda sa tin, kaya yun. No match.
hahaha Sa lalaki mas malakas sa atin saka tignan mo naman, mangingisda eh parang di mahirap tignan sa kanila unlike here. Di ko alam sa babae sa tin kung kaya magdive pero pinoy naman tayo, kahit ano kaya. hehe Saka parang sarap magsummer dun sa Kitasanriku, although no beach, pero makita mo lang yun blue sea, ok na. Clear and dark blue sea. Saka yun Idol arc, grabe talaga yun training, yun scam este yun marketing ng Idol/entertainment industry, cutthroat and tight
competition. Geez, sa tingin ko, kaunti artista lang dito magsurvive pag nag idol sila sa Japan. Dito medyo petiks,pacute, kaunting acting ang artista na tin, sa Japan, grabe, bawat galaw at kaunti mali mo lang, wala na. hehe Saka overwork. Yun nga lang, kahit dito makakapahinga ang artista tapos balik ok lang. Dun, medyo di pwede ganun. Kahit may talent, kailangan tuloy tuloy ang work. Ganun informative, kahit di accurate at least may idea. Marami pang facts ang mapupulot dito. Saka iba na naman dialect dito, grabe, hirap na nga ng nihonggo, tapos may iba pa pala silang dialect.
Another one eh yun fun vibe ng Asadora nito, many will agree na kahit may malungkot na arc at drama dun eh masaya pa din every episode. Kala ko nga simple problems lang yun dadaan ng mga characters, aba matindi pala, nasama pa yun great earthquake. Geez, scary.. But anyway, they still made it happy kahit ganun. Laging looking forward sa next episode.
Ah, ang galing yun naisip nilang pasok ng 80's vibe sa story. It's a long explanation pero yun nakakatawa na 80's sounds nila, may new wave din pala sila saka idol nung 80's. Grabe, mas mahirap pa pala nun. Saka yun mga scenes na 80's narecreate nila ng polido hanggang damit and hairstyle. hahaha Basta another plus yun. Interesting ang OST niya, that's for sure!
Lastly, of course ang importante sa lahat! Cast ng actors/actresses. Grabe si Nounen Rena, despite she looks 14 or 15 now or that time, pero noong nakita ko yun Hot Road, bata talaga yun dating niya. May kapalit na sila Hirosue Ryoko. hehe She's 21 anyway but still looks that. Siyempre, di siya ang type ko, Hashimoto Ai! hahaha Sa series, despite siya yun mukhang mature pero it's a fact na mas bata siya kay Nounen. Ang gulo but both of them, cheating their age due to those very youthful and cute looks! Hay.. Kawaii.. Of course, buong cast, buenas na naman ni Fukushi Sota I mean, start pala ng very lucky streak na napares siya sa mga leading lady. Sarap bugbugin ng lalaking yan. Di ako bitter. hehe Hashimoto Ai, is still my choice! Confessions pa lang, akalain mo sisikat siya ng ganun. Ayos!!
From Koizumi Kyoko na suprisingly former Idol pala siya na sana ginamit naman yun music niya. hehe Then other cast members with some cameos, kahit si Natsu na grabe, malakas talaga even yun mga characters na Ama na lumalangoy pa talaga kahit tanders na! Grabe, hirap nun kaya! Every actor is fit sa character nila, even yun mga otaku. hehe Kahit yun mga kontrabida eh swak sa actor/actress dun. Suprisingly, Matsuoka Mayu! Nakakatawa yun role niya, galit at matapang na cute Idol! hahaha Pero pwede siya mag idol ha kasi may dance moves at pag ganun dating niya pwede siya pang AKB or HKT whatever girl group. hehe
I haven't seen yun ibang Asadora pero nakita ko na yun iba, definitely better ito kaysa sa Massan or Carnation. Or iba, I don't have time to spend watching or even where to watch the other 90 asadora series pero definitely the best na Asadora na to. Kung may kokontra, give your suggestions kahit yun luma, sige! hahaha Because of this series, that week for me, kahit malungkot, napasaya ako. Kahit tapos na siya, it really put a smile saka lessons na din. A good glimpse na din how the typical Japanese life works. Kahit di accurate, pero yun setting sa countryside na love hate relationship nila at iba pa, parang gusto ko di lang Tokyo puntahan ko, parang dun din sa Sogedahama din. hahaha Specific right. I just love this, better yet, keep a copy for keeps!!!!
I need NHK world premium para sa Mare and other drama series nila. Kahit wag na yun Taiga. hahaha Parang boring kasi at 50 episodes of talking? Oh please. hehe Next one, hmmmm Mare or Carnation, Gochisousan. Pahinga muna, mashado kumain ng oras ko yun series. Well spent. Iwas lang maaddik sa next one. hehe
