What if..

(I'm gone)

One of the hard posts to write about... What if indeed I'm not here? It's hard to imagine even to myself.. The reason what I thought about this was as you grew older and many people around you seems to be distant. Loneliness creeps in then add in other pressures that came in a flash.. I just want to go away or gone altogether. 

I believe that a value of the person truly shows when that person is gone. Someway or somehow, even with great memories, it's easy to remember them. Even that person has somewhat gave not good memories.. I started to think, who will look after my family? Or do the errands even they are mounting? 

Who will deliver good messages even in reality they are bad? hehe who will be the negotiator  to bring agreement in both sides even sometimes, I end up hurt? What will happen in gatherings of friends, without me? Encouraging them to come even they don't want to or sometimes, which I did not realize, brings fun to the party. What if I'm not there for a friend who needs help or just want a conversation? Will that person be saved? 

I can't imagine not visiting or meeting a friend in a surprise time. Or what if I did not meet them at that surprise time.. What if my blog did not exists, will any reader miss it? hehe 

After writing those sentences, I felt weary and sad.. It's because its hard to imagine that I'm not there at those events or situations. It dawned on me, that life is enjoyed best when you have a lot of relationships. Good, healthy or bad ones.. Short, long or indirect.. As long you see the person on the other side of the fence, it looks bad if you don't see any. 

I know I might be too sentimental or sound morbid. But as time really finishes fast, you don't want to forget moments that you're there, whether it's great or worst. Whether with that someone or a group of people.. In a small space, or in a big venue.. 

Life indeed shouldn't be enjoyed alone. Even you are forever single or happily married, never forget one thing.. Even you felt everyone left you or you're left behind....

I'm not alone. Besides, I don't want to be gone yet. hahaha 

Sigh.. I don't want to think this again.

almost gone: My room's ceiling

It's not really a social metaphor or statement. Talagang 50% of my room's ceiling eh still gone. Nakikita ko pa din yun yero na nilagay at yun mga kahoy na nakakabit, which di ko alam tawag, basta yun mga plywood. Mabuti na lang pagumuulan eh isang tulo na lang lumalabas dito.
Ang bilis ng panahon, parang 7 months ago, nagdadasal ako lagi na sana di umulan para di mabasa yun kwarto ko. Pero ngayon, eto na, naayos at nakakatulog naman ako ng maayos. I missed na kumpleto pa yun kisame. Minsan nakatulala lang ako, at makita yun white na kisame, ano ano na naiisip ko. Sometimes, it gives me calm or even peace. Lalo na pag magulo na ang buhay.

Ngayon, wala na yun white color, kulay kahoy yun nakikita ko na. Pero di ibig sabihin eh minsan di pa din ako natatahimik, ok pa din minsan. Kahit ano pa man ang kisame ko basta tahimik, walang gulo at maayos ang kwarto ko, ok naman ako. 
Ok naman ako.. Talaga? 

Siguro nga. Mabuti naman rest of the room still looks white, dirty white and pure white at some spots. Except sa sahig siyempre. hehe I know I don't really like white, may exception lang sa kwarto ko. hahaha

At night, or kahit bago matulog, parang di ko naman alintana kung ano yun kwarto ko, basta may kama pa ko tutulugan, or a place like I said before, sanctuary. Pero importante din na may spot na pagbukas ng mata ko or the last spot I'll see, is that space.. Up there. Simple, rustic, yet calm.
It's weird, but somehow, it gives me hope. Hope that I am still living today. 

Planning to paint it? Nah, mahirap at sa ganun kundisyon ng kisame, eh pabayaan na lang na ganyan. Let it aged.

almost gone: Music/Video shops

When I went sa ATC, years ago, siguro mga first time ako pumunta dun, tanging mall lang na may Tower Records! I mean that famous tower records na galing states. All kinds of records, mapa video, CD's and may vinyl collection pa sa basement. Dun ko din nakita yun box set ng Joy Division na di ko nabili kasi walang pera. hahaha Which eventually pagtagal nagkaroon na di ako dahil sa mabait kong english trainer! 
Napapadaan ako sa National Bookstore here sa Quezon Ave, eh di lang malaking national bookstore ang mayroon, may Music One na dalawang floors, parang tower din at pwede ka pang makinig ng sounds. 

Actually parang mag isa lang ang may ari nun tower and music one dito sa pinas dati. hehe Sikat din si Odyssey at Astrovision, kanyang kanya lakihan ng pwesto and release of new albums and home videos. 
Years past, well yun tower sa ATC now became a fashion retail shop. Music one, matagal na wala, kahit sa greenbelt branch. I don't see one either kahit saan. Odyssey eh maliit na lang, bumibili pa din ako pero phillips headset lang. hahaha Astrovision, well, paliit na paliit yun pwesto. They sell console games na din and surprisingly vinyl. 

Due to internet and well technology advances, halos mawawala na sila. Lalo na these days na dumating pa ang music streaming services such as spinnr and spotify and the likes. I mean, parang collecting music eh katamaran na din, bayaran na lang yun mga music streaming services to fulfill yun audiophile needs. It's sad, unlike those days na pupunta ka ng music store, pakinggan yun cd after some songs and bili na. Now, specific song eh pwede mo na bilin, not the whole album. 

I don't like that neither. hehe I prefer getting the whole discography or album, kahit isa lang trip kong kanta, eh ok na yun. Minsan kasi kala mo panget yun album, eh maganda pala. hahaha

Videos or movies, well, may netflix, may illegal, at faster release ng theatrical version dito. Dati huli tayo sa mga theatrical release, months talaga. Ngayon, some blockbuster films, eh una pa tayo kaysa sa US. Great examples, Cap America 2 and Avengers, una tayo sa US. hahaha Kahit minsan tumingin ako ng mga videos, although yun bago talagang mahal, pero yun iba mura na, wala pa din bumibili. Like I said before, video rental shops were gone, well, sadly baka ito din. =( Kaya di lang videos or daniel padilla albums ang binebenta nila, they go to music accessories, video and even karaoke! Geez.

Malungkot kasi mas maganda yun lalabas ka ng bahay, tapos tingin ka ng mga albums, test every album and out na. Kahit wala ako bilin, basta babalikan ko siya. hahaha These days, with the power ng net, eh parang di ka na lalabas ng bahay. Load lang and net connection, ok na. I prefer still going out and check albums. Pero now siyempre check lang sa net kung ano maganda, and ehem, get it in the other way. haha

Pero importante pa din sila, I mean lalo mabuti yun mga artist na they prefer selling albums di lang sa itunes but sa record stores, and mas special edition agad. I hope tuloy lang nila yun. Even yun mga box sets, kasi di naman lahat dito eh can afford ng net, lalo na pag mataas na speed. hehe Kaya mabuti nagbebenta na legal na box sets, keep it that way. =) At maganda pa, benta ng tickets! So some record shops eh exclusive or pati sila nagbebenta ng mga tickets ng concert so maganda yun, para may pumunta din sa kanila.

Well, pagtagal di natin masasabi with the new strategies na ginagawa nila will keep them afloat but I still hope they will be there..

Almost gone: Newspaper

Dati pag gising ko sa umaga, noong nasa project 7 pa kami. Looking forward na may Phil Star na nakalagay sa sala. Ako ang unang bumabasa, una ko tinitignan, sports and chismax este entertainment section. 
Now, well, I don't need that waiting anymore. I only buy a newspaper, Manila Bulletin at Sunday for job hunting. hehe Pero siyempre di naman ako lagi nag job hunting di ba? hahahaha

Sad to say, with the great benefits that internet brought for the human race eh ito yun tinamaan ng matindi. How harsh or hard? Newsweek, even New York times are now looking for a white knight. Newsweek even stop doing yun hard copy ng mag nila. Geez.. Eh dati mayaman ka pag may Newsweek or Time magazine sa bahay mo. hehe Now, with a click, it's there. At di lang it's there.. Naguupdate agad unlike before na hintayin mo yun news ng 6pm or next day na lang. 

Even now, di mo kailangan may hawak kang dyaryo, nasa smartphone mo na lang. Or kung mayaman Tablet. hehe Or kung hindi afford, may computer shop, tambay lang, pasurf surf lang ayos na. 
Tapos idagdag mo pa kaming bloggers.. Semi Journalist, or Journalist without a degree.. hehe Eh lalo na kawawa yun newspaper industry. Even tabloids, eh natamaan din. May mga tabloids pa din, ang babastos naman. hahaha

Of all things going gone, eto yun masasabi ko wala ako masisisi kung bakit unti unti silang nawawala. Maybe in 10 years time, wala na maglalako ng mga dyaryo sa tin or kahit sa kalsada o bangketa. You can't blame them that despite yun ibang publications eh may online subscription eh marami naman sila competition online. Free pa! After watching page one, yun doc about new york times, I'm sad na marami sa kanila mga award winning writers, Pulitzer's lang naman yun iba. hehe In the history palaging front sila lalo na sa mga shocking stories or news, eh biglang babagsak kasi ayaw na ng tao bumili ng papel, gusto online or much in TV. Worse others, the save the trees mantra. Geez.. 

Then a lot of publications around the world, lalo na pag newspaper ang genre mo nagsasara, mostly old ones. It's sad, kahit sobrang detailed o minsan may mga info na sila lang nagprovide eh wala na nagbabasa. Tinatalo sila ng magazines, especially ones about love or sex. hehe Or yun TV shows, news channels or yun nga websites giving news for free.. So advers going to those mediums now than newspaper who is more visible and a wider chain of readers. 

Well, ngayon yun mga dyaryo nakikita ko lagi sa BK kasi may libre nakabitin dun. hehe Banks which nobody reads it, usually minsan wala ako kaagaw. hehe Even schools I rarely seen a student reading a broadsheet unless newspaper ng university or mags na lang. hehe

See, as much I want to give anymore ways na parang lumago sila.. Unfortunately, wala na ko masuggest. Others has now an app, or may website na din pero limited news lang. If you want to have like yun whole news sa iyong gadget, tama naman yun. Bayaran mo. Quality writing naman yun. Matuto ka pa. 

One thing pala, they can still keep their market by doing more ads. Not only yun ads sa sine before manood ng trailer or the film itself. hehe Sana more on TV, Radio or even online di ba. Invest in online adver, it's worth a try di ba.. 

Prices should like not sobrang baba pero yun kaya bilin ng user, kung mas mura sa usual newspaper mas maganda kasi wala naman delivery cost or even paper and printing cost di ba? So why go lower than the usual newspaper. 

I'm still grateful na nagbabasa pa din ako ng newspaper kung may chance kasi dito ko nakuha yun curiosity ko in other aspects in life. Sa chismax kahit papano may topic na dito mo din makikita. Commentaries from the writers talaga, ok. Kaya siguro din nagbloblog din ako coz maybe I want to be one. hehe But nah, ok na ko dito. hahaha

Job hunting of course na dito mo din makikita than in jobstreet or in job fairs. At higit sa lahat, well not sports. hehe Inside info ah este, great business news from different industries. Kayo naman. hahaha Mga info for business na magagamit mo kung hindi ngayon, a better time.

If I get rich in the future, maybe I should subscribe sa newspaper in the old fashion way. hehe
After you wake up, go downstairs, sit to a lazy boy chair, flipping the pages and reading the news of the day coupled that with a sip of juice. I'm not into coffee. hehe

It's that simple.

Dire Punishing Fire

Well, kakatingin ko lang ng resibo kahapon, sakto pala.. 1 year na ang punishing fire! hehe Sakto ayun ibenta na agad. hahaha Kahit gusto ko man lang itago kaso nandito na ang Iron Maiden which really can stand kahit ano pagawa ko, di ko na siya magamit. Sayang lang kung maalikabukan siya. 

After that annoying issue at the first month of usage, all is well for this sturdy tablet. Never used a tablet before pero dito ko naranasan makagamit. It's really my mini computer lalo na dati na if my very old computer fails, eto na lang ang hope ko. hehe Honestly, I'm going to miss the thing, lalo na sa pagpanood ng films, playing some apps kaso di ko nagamit talaga for that. At surfing the net in my most comfortable position, nakahiga! hahaha

I must say, this thing really made me realize na mas ok Android for me. I mean di ko naman hate yun IOS despite mukhang android na siya ngayon. hehe Yun free apps kasi ng android like kingoffice lang, sobrang sulit. At siyempre my 3 movie apps, VLC which until now beta pa din. hehe Yun isa nakalimutan ko name pero ginagamit ko para maiba ang view at ang pinaka matinding movie player sa lahat MX Player!!! Until now, wala ata plano si IOS na kunin siya. hehe At kahit anong file, laki or what, this tablet played it all. Hay.. Internet browsing nakakaaddict dito tapos yun apps like youtube, fb and twitter very easy to use.. Ah iba pang app. Well, di naman ako masyado sa app. Di kasi libre yun Plants vs. Zombies! hehe Pero temple run dito natuloy yun pagiging adik ko. hehe At yun kingsoft office, gamit na gamit dito lalo na sa pagblog! 

Actually naisip ko siya palitan lalo na a lot of good chinese branded tabs showing up! Kaso parang hindi na talaga. hehe But sulit siya for that year of using this. Binabawi ko na kung ano yun nasabi ko to Ainol, nakabawi naman sila. hehe I still recommend this brand lalo na yun mga quad core nila at 10 inch na!! Di ko alam magkano yun pero marami silang katapat na..

It is still burning for a promise of great tablet experience. Buenas for short. hehe

Until now, it's still working as I bought from day one. Yun lightning nga lang nagiba.

Almost gone: Radio

It was gone noong dumating na mga novelty radio stations. Yun mga stasyon na walang ginawa kung mangokray, mangtsimax at ang matindi sa lahat magbigay lang mga payong pagibig na minsan kulang na lang eh magmarunong eh DJ. Geez.. Sama mo pa ang sakit sa tenga na mga kanta! hehehe

Well, that's Radio for you these days. May mga pang high end pa din na radio, the usual English speaking DJ's but well, they are just numbered. Sad to hear that, unlike in my days before, eh may DMZ, Nu 107! RT then Campus Radio na naging tugs tugan na! Ewww.. hahaha Easy Rock is still here. Thank God! 

Kahit ang lahat ng mga cellphone ngayon eh may radio, I don't tune in. One eh bawal makinig sa work ng radio, lalo na sa BPO. Confiscate ang cellphone. Two, kung anong uso, yun na.. Ayun, yun mga maiingay at weird, or badet na pangalan na mga DJ eh sobrang sumisikat na.. I don't know where they get that energy. hehe Yeah, it's just well di ko trip. Marami naman ganun sa work ko. hehehe or some friends are like that na.. Why listen to it? At ang huli, eh yun mga fave ko type ng radio stations, unfortunately, they are gone. May magic at hit ata yun or monster but as much I want to listen to them.. Well, nah I still miss those cool radio stations. Cool DJ, cool topics and damn great music!!

Great thing, and ironically, isa sa mga naging trainer ko, actually my first trainer sa BPO eh dating DJ, at dating Ang TV star pa! hahaha Damn, dun ko sa kanya ata nakuha yun rhythm ng voice ko. Quite bass yet kinda midwestern. Siya eh kano talaga style. Pero dito naman siya nakatira. 

Damn how cool was that, learning english and the same time, dun ko sa kanya nakuha yun JD box set copy! Damn I miss that dude. I heard he's now a band manager.. That was years ago. Meaning those kind of DJ's na sobrang kano magsalita pero pinoy pa din ang dating.. These days, jologs na pero pag nagenglish yun mga DJ's fairness magaling eh. That's market wants these days. Hay..

Despite the dawn ng net, Radio did not really go down. Kasi mas lumawak yun audience, even around the globe pero sa advertising prospect, di naman siya priority kasi yun.. Di naman lahat may trip makinig. As we, according sa research eh more visual than hearing. Of course maraming nakikinig pero mas marami maattract pag may nakikita, which goes to TV or print Media. Kaya well, di ganun kalakas impact ng Radio. 

Of course, di naman mamamatay ang Radio especially if the end nears. hehe Kasi radio frequency is let's say kahit mabulok ang lahat eh may radio frequency na mas madali makuha. I mean, if apocalyptic days are come and gone, unang may signal is radio. Kidding, I mean di naman mawawala ang radio, it's part of our lives. Im still listening to it, I love listening to public service programs, kasi maririnig mo yun galit na nagrereklamo at yun galit ni host. hehe Or yeah may FM na news station which quite new. AM yeah, minsan I can't believe radio drama still running.. Kudos to those people who do it. And classical music.. Especially on Sundays. 

It won't be gone, it will be there forever. It's a matter of us appreciating it..

almost gone: Sitcoms

Situational comedy ang ibig sabihin nito. Karamihan, tawag eh slapstick. In a very short time, you'll be laughing or having fun makinig o lalo na makita ang mga jokes o kalokohan na nito. Paano pa kaya pag isang oras na puro ganito. 

I agree what Direk Jose Javier Reyes said, as he quote na the reason comedy blockbusters are earning big these days sa box office eh dahil sa simpleng rason. Big networks doesn't do really these kind of shows. 

I watched one episode na toda Max, yun Angel Locsin and Vhong Navarro show na dapat kasama si Robin pero wala naman siya lagi. hehe Dad used to watch that not to have fun but just starte at Angel Locsin. hahaha Well, napanood ko yun episode, just an example, yun guest si Anjo Ylanna! As Dino Tengco! =) Grabe, intro pa lang, natawa na ko, at nabalik yun mga araw na well, nasa sitcom siya dati. From Palibhasa to Abangan at itbp. Well, siya lang talaga nagdala ng show, pero gift credit na din kay Pokwang, Al Tantay but the main cast kuno. Nah.. I doesn't make me laugh or I was just laughing because it's bad. Geez.. They've tried but well, di talaga.

Iba naman kasi ang mga sitcom dati. Of course, longest running na yun bubble gang pero kung tutuusin, aba mas matindi pa yun mga dating shows. Each station now has at least one gag show na lang, sitcoms, alam ko isa na lang din. Dati, grabe parang may 2-3 sitcoms tapos dapat may gag show pa. Tapos samahan mo pa ng mga pito pito comedy flicks, hay kay saya ng mga araw na yun! 

Kay dami na sitcoms dati, siyempre at gag show, alam niyo na kung ano ano yun. Kung ililista ko pa yun, aba mas mahaba yun listahan kaysa sa post na ito. hehe 

Best gag shows na lang, hmmmm Bubble gang, Champoy, Tropang Trumpo, Goin Bananas, Sick o clock news at yun fave ko, intro soundtrack pa lang, panalo na. T.O.D.A.S! hehe Sitcoms, well... John en Marsha, Home Along, Ober Da Bakod, Cool ka lang, Iskul Bukol, Buddy en Sol, Okey Ka Fairy ko (Dahil kay Alice Dixson/Tweety De Leon. hehe), Takeshi's Castle (di ko maclassify eh.) hehe, Abangan na susunod na kabanata at ang pinakalegendary sa lahat, walang kapantay at ngayon may tshirt pa ko! Palibhasa Lalake! hehe Kaya siguro yun mga ka age ko loko loko din sa chicks, natutunan dito! hehe At yun mga banat, grabe.. Classic. At higit sa lahat, basaan! hehe Partida, walang masyado script, adlib at dito na din nauso yun laglagan. Kaya sa barkada, nagaya eh, di matapos tapos na laglagan! Kapapanood nito! hehe

Eh siyempre di mo pa isama yun like I said pito pito movies, almost all na fave ko, it's either TVJ or Joey De Leon at ang fave ko Rene Requestas. Sorry Pidol, pero Rene ako. Grabe eh. hehe Iba yun patawa niya tapos sidekick niya lagi si Panchito, nganga na! haha Ah of course, Pidol, lalo na yun mga 60-70's niya films, iba yun, mga classic. 

Matanong ng lahat or marami why tv stations are not doing these kind of shows? One is well, iwas MTRCB. I mean, besides yun issue ni Vice Ganda sa concert, eh kung tutuusin mas matindi yun mga jokes dati, may double meaning at minsan nakakalusot pa yun green. hehe Kaya well, natatakot sila masuspend o worse, mawalan ng audience, which neither of them happened but kung mahigpit dati ang MTRCB, naku suspend halos maraming shows noon. 

Sunod eh kung mapapansin niyo eh kung di naman tumanda yun mga bida mga shows na yun, eh iba pumanaw na. Kakalungkot as much they gave the greatest fun and antics, namayapa na halos sa mga magagaling na comedians. =( There are other current mediums to really show how funny a person is. One is comedy bar, na kung saan galing yun mga bagong comedians natin today.. Another is the net, youtube sensations or whatever, 15 seconds of fame is damn worth it for them. Ngayon they became personalities bigla. 

Lastly, eh taste ng audience of today and the networks that feed to us viewers. Like films, people doesn't want to think much while watching a tv show. Mabuti pa sa US, kahit may Walking Dead, eh may shows pa din na New Girl or 2 broke girls, or Big bang theory. Here, unfortunately, we have Juan Dela Cruz at Indio (na matetegi na) Or worse a bunch of drama anthology crap telenovelas which the only goal is to get advertisers. hehe Ok lang kung talagang prepared or neatly done, kaso yun mga bida, diyos miyo.. Ni pagsasalita di malinaw, kung malas malas, nabulol pa. Hay! Ano silbi ng editors. Or even directors. Geez.. Well, mabuti may be careful with my heart but come on, don't tell me magliligawan sila for 10 years! hahaha Kakaumay ata yun.

Well, few tv shows that give me at least interest, and not those koreanovelas. See? San mga sitcoms? Toda Max na lang? Banana Split, Loko U (I watch that coz of Arci. hehe) Hay, it's better to just watch yun jeepney tv, kaso sa cable. Partida, wala pa yun palibhasa dun, pero natutuwa na ko sa Reruns. Those kind of fun, just wala today. Even in films, I mean I did watch sisterakas dahil kasi kay Jeleane, hehe Pero compare that sa atsay killer? Atsay Killer na lang. hehe Di ko pa icompare yun sa ibang classic. Siguro masasabi ko natuwa ako at classic today is Zombadings but well that's a film or Here comes a bride. No local TV sitcom or show na talagang aabangan ko at least once a week. Except for Eat Bulaga. 

I hope TV stations will really look into this aspect of programming. I do understand na they are giving what audience what, good looking men and women with shrieking voices, just for adver money or ratings game.. I hope they make yun kagaya dati, or kahit di naman araw araw, make it at least once a week. Kakaumay na watching it's either crap show or crap gossip show, or non stop news. I mean comedy is another way to really give fun sa mga audience. Even the netizens or bloggers will agree that shows before or sitcoms were way better than these shows today. 

Well, despite changing tides or likes, sana gumawa sila ulit yun mga show na puno na kwela at panandalian aliw, tunay na aliw sa mga Pilipino. =)

Almost gone: Walkman/Music Players

Great thing that Apple still releases yun ipod touch, kasi with great sounds that you can bring around then with a lot of songs you can store, you can also enjoy yun apps at other tasks even watching movies. Without yun phone feature which for me, ok lang.. Pero with the dawn of tablets, at smartphones na pwede din to do the same things with great sounds eh.. Parang nawawala na mga ito. 

I used to have walkman nung grade skul at HS.. Tapos yun CD player nung college na dinadala ko pa sa skul, nakapasok sa bag yun cd player at may sounds ka na! 

These days, you don't need that big things. You need is small players or better kasama na sa phone mo. Like me, gamit na gamit yun X2 ko na wala naman sim, pero pang sounds ko. No radio player or component needed kasi ang lakas naman nito. hehe 

Kakalungkot lang that they've been phased out. Well, it's better than fast forward or rewind in a sluggish and destructive way kasi nasisira yun tape/cd pag ganun. Unlike these days, pindot lang, ayun na! hehe Although quality wise, mas maganda pa din yun walkman or casette player kasi iba kbps nun or quality. I doesn't mean di kaya ng players today, it's just you need to convert pa to higher kbps or well flac format na.

Eh paano ako yun 30gb worth of songs? I convert ko pa lahat? katamad! hehehe Pero yun lang advantage nun, kasi pagdating sa storage, mas maganda naman yun mga players ngayon, copy then lagay sa lahat ng players! hehe Memory card na lang. 

Although siyempre di lahat ng players ngayon magaganda, siyempre pipili ka ng matino players, pero yun single magandang player talaga eh Apple Ipod touch. I'm not sure sa 5th gen, pero sa dating, panalo, sa sounds, sana mas maganda pa sa 4th gen which is sulit na sa kin. hehe

I hope manufactures will continue making these new digital players at maganda sounds. Samsung gumawa na sila kaso di nila minarket. hehe Ah Sony as well pero mostly naka sama sa phones.. So I hope they understand that there is a market for audiophiles like me or Ted.. Who just want out flat music only or some functions, basta maganda quality. Zune is a great example but even it's not sales great, I love the richness ng sounds niya..

Almost gone: Toys

Xmas season, even birthdays or any occassions that involves gift giving eh lalo na kung ang bibigyan mo eh bata.. Number one choice is toys! I love toys, who doesn't? Lalo na kung bata.. Naku, lalaruin ng matagal yan o malas lang eh kung masira agad sa sobrang gamit. hehe 

But sad thing to see, with the dawn of smartphones, tablets or computer games, PC or console gaming eh parang mahina na o sobrang hina na ng toy sales. Alam ko yun may mga toys eh yun mga collectors, from old toys to new toy editions like Star Wars, superheroes and stuff. 

I can see still toy stores but di naman napupuno unlike my childhood years na grabe, everyday when I visit a toy store eh napakadaming bata nagpapakamatay, o minsan nagdradrama ng sobra para lang bilan ng laruan. 

Ngayon, mukhang kids want something touchscreen, or worse Ipad. Geez. hehe Paano pa kaya yun board games or traditional games, parang wala na masyado gumagawa. Although yun mga may di kaya, dun na lang nareresort or pc rental na lang kasi mura per hour ngayon. 15 pesos! hehe

Di pa kasama ang FB and the apps, even adults like me drawn to that stuff. hehe Having a toy for me eh malaking tulong sa bata, una sa lahat eh maganda sa toy real yun interaction to his thinking. I mean, yeah apps or computer games can do that as well, pero yun imagination or thinking outside the box, mas nabibigay ng toys kasi nahahawakan at nafeel nung bata. Like for example, eh teddy bear, I mean ipads cannot duplicate the softness and feel the teddy bear. Would you mind holding that dork in your sleep? No! Real one can do that. hehe Or for ladies, Barbie! Sa pamangkin ko, kahit may Ipad4 na eh she prefers doing kikay stuff sa barbie doll. Kahit may mga laro na sa apps to fix yourself, or dress yourself kind of game, in the end.. Mas maganda yun real toy. Dapat nga mura na lang sila ngayon eh, unlike dati, papabili ka pa sa states para sa mga magandang laruan! hehe

Second is yun traditional games or yun games na may kasama ka, foster friendship or competition real time, unlike yun network games, kahit ako naglalaro minsan kakabagot din ha. Kahit may kalaban ka sa kabilang computer di mo naman nakikita or kahit may webcam well.. Iba eh pagnakikita mo yun kalaban mo o team mate sa harap mo, playing against each other and knowing human emotions better than the virtual ones. At excercise din naman siya. Network games, kakaexcercise din, nang daliri at utak. hehe Yun traditional games or sports, lahat! =)

Pero good thing, di naman mawawala ito, I don't think in a lifetime kasi sa infant and childhood years, I prefer them playing real toys than well computer simulated games. Do other activities that can help you a lot and excercise like my Dad always says which di ko lagi sinusunod. hehe 

More than that, it excercises responses and it helps the kid move around in the environment unlike sitting for what, an hour? 

Toys really give real joy, at least for that kid's playful mind in a mean time. =)

Almost gone: Video rental shops

Sad to see, that the only Video City we have di lang sa barangay, kundi sa buong QC siguro or even NCR eh wala na sa may Suki. Dahil na din sa technology, the mobile entertainment, torrents, youtube or ehem persons like me eh di lang almost gone ang video rental shops.. Wala na talaga. Obsolete.. None.. No more!

Wayback those elementary days when betamax and VHS tapes were the king. Although those days eh nagstart na ng pirata directly from film houses, pero marami pa din video rental shops noong. Medyo mahirap magnegosyo nun ha.. Siyempre, iisipin mo san ka kukuha ng mga papahiram mo. Paano pag di sinauli yun pinahiram mo o sinira pala, mahirap yun kasi mahal ang mga blank tapes dati. Lalo naman ata yun equipment! hehe How about the customer infobase, I mean, di pa gamit ang computer noon for customer database, you will need to use a lot of index cards! ahahaha

Then, the setup ng shop with a lot of pigeon or small holes to fit yun tapes. At siyempre, isama mo pa yun update ng films. Video city was big at that time, they have the biggest chain of rental shops, at ayun mga pinapahiram nila ranging from new titles for 2 days, tapos 3 days and yun mga luma 5 days. I did have a membership card noon from them at hiram naman ako. hehe Kung wala si kuya ng mga epektos, let's go at video city! Eh may mga viva titles pa sila na alam na.. hehe Hot titles!!!

I still remember, may competitor pa sila, ACA video then blockbuster video set up one branch dito sa may east avenue.. All of them, had a opportunity to earn sa video rental, ang dating na lang eh paramihan ng titles, pagandahan ng shops and other strategies.. Unfortunately, good times never lasts. They did survive when VCD arrived, but when DVD arrived, bluray, youtube, internet, cinemas are releasing the same or earlier dates of flicks.. They approached their inevitable doom.

Now, may video shops pero on sale but wala bumibili.. Di ko alam kung ano ginagawa nila dun sa mga films na yun pag di nabili. Ang daming CD nun ha. Video City is gone, it's competitors went down first, ACA gone and blockbuster never expanded. Di lang dito, even in other parts of the world, example na lang sa US, blockbuster malapit na mawala because of netflix and others. Amazon na din. Japan you just need to order then ayun na, nasa pinto mo na yun flick na gusto mo. Movie channels now showing selections, a variety of selections at dumadami pa ang movie channels which prompt na di na kailangan magrent. 

Pay per view also, lalo na sa US na it's there all the time. Ah.. There, so due to a lot of access in flicks, di ko pa nasama ang mga pirata. hehe Wala na talaga, sad to say.. But maybe I should thank this one because without it, siguro di ako mahilig sa films lately. I still remember, mga after dinner, lalabas ako ng bahay tapos punta na sa isang maliit na video shop tapos nakatitig lang ako mga matagal tapos pipili lang ng isa o dalawa, 15 pesos ata bawat isang tape. =)

Now, all I need to do, is to wait some hours and presto! Sit back, relax and enjoy the movie!

Almost Gone: Post Office

Pumupunta lang ko dito pagkukuha ng Cedula, kasi pwede sa min. At yun postal ID kung pwede in the future. But for packages and snail mail? Di na.. 

Sad to say, wala na ko nakikitang mamang Kartero naglalakad sa araw para magdala ng sulat. Nakakita ako once pero di na yun kagaya dati. Lalo na nung bata ako, may nagiikot lagi sa min.

Due to the advent of mobile phones, smartphones, SMS, internet lalo ang email..  How about remittances? Eh PT&T tapos LBC eh dati may nagdedeliver sa bahay. Ngayon, punta ka na lang sa center tapos kunin mo pera or simply funds transfer na lang sa internet. Text mo ng SMS imbes na telegram, morse code or well kung nagpager ka pa. hehe Courier services like FedEx, UPS, DHL and kahit LBC eh natabunan na talaga yun post offices, not only here but around the world na siguro. 

Last time ako pumunta sa Post office to get something eh kasama ko pa si Ron Marc at para pa sa piyesa ng Magic. hehe But anyway, yeah.. Naaawa lang ako sa situation ng Post Offices, even in the US, they were a lot of cut backs done just to reduce the expenses of the post offices. 

I watched an episode sa news tv, may ibang lugar pa pala sa bansa ang gumagamit pa talaga ng post office. Yun napanood ko, imbes na sms, eh nag telegrama pa. hehe Very  old school. 

Hmmmm I did send snail mail pero di na sa Post office, kasi naman kung di lang sa mabagal eh masama pa mawala yun mga padala mo. Or worse, tinago pa o ninakaw pa! Ayos di ba. Pero mukhang maayos naman sila ngayon, after some cutbacks eh kaunti lang ang tao sa post office pero umaandar pa din. Its sad na dati sobra ang pila sa post office kasi lahat magpapadala ng sulat. Tapos yun feeling na fulfilled mareceive yun sulat mo after a long walk or how many ships o dinaanan na islands just to send the letter. 

Well, those days were gone. For now, as technology grows faster and other means of transporting are getting faster din, eh one day, di na post office ang dating yan. Place for your PO Boxes perhaps. May gumagamit pa ba ng PO Box sa tin? hehe For business yun malamang. Kahit sa abroad, may PO Box pa. Sa atin lalo na personally parang wala kumukuha nun. Siguro di lang alam ng tao may ganun. Hehe

Or may cellphone naman, ok na yun. 

I hope di mawala ang Post office, kasi what if every technology falls tapos back to manual tayo!

Edi kailangan ng post office for your communication needs. =)  Not only the government should take the action na maitain yun post offices. Dapat tayo din, kahit bisitahin siguro ang post office ok lang o kahit paminsan minsan padala ka kahit isang sulat lang para maramdaman nila na may silbi pa ang opisina nila. 

Kasi sayang naman kung di natin gagamitin ang isang paraan ng komunikasyon na kinagisnan natin. Sabagay, kahit sobrang advance na lahat ng means of delivery than post office eh well, wag na natin hintayin na kumonti o mawala na sa bayan ang post office .Kaya yun, sana lang tuloy tuloy pa din ang kanilang operations even it these fast paced times where our planet becomes a smaller place.

Post offices are a must,kasi dahil sa kanila.. May huling paraan pa para mapadala ang mensahe mo sa iyong minamahal.. Kahit san ka man o kahit anong oras pa.. 

Griffith

I'm kinda missing this thing. =) Ah di naman natin paguusapan si Griffith, the manipulative villain ni Guts sa Berserk. This was the name I gave to my Ipod Touch 32GB model. I got this thing out of a deal at yun, why I chose it? Let's say nainggit ako everytime I can see a person playing some apps there and some watching some flicks! Damn I hope I can have that. 

Thanks to that deal, well I got it! Jailbreak agad and put some apps at unang app na addict ako? Plants vs. Zombies! hehe Grabe, until now ata memorize ko pa ang mga strategy ko every level at take note, talagang pinuno ko yun collection ng plants dun. Then another app na naaddict ako, not Angry Birds or even NBA 2K12, hmmmm Ultimate MK 3! Kahit si Rheg nagulat na may ganun game. hehe Damn, this game gave me the nostalgic feeling of playing it since Sega days. Grabe, I can't believe na maaddict pa din ako, lalo na to get all the endings of the characters of the game. Kahit mahirap gamitin yun character, sige gamitin na lang ng smarts. hehe

When I got the thing, I placed right away yun Ishield just to protect it from scratches. Definitely, that Ishield protects the unit, ilan beses ko na kasi nahulog at ayun, parang bago pa din yun Itouch. hehe Saka walang gasgas lalo na kung ilalagay mo sa bulsa yun Itouch. I called it Griffith kasi damn, that thing is tempting. From the apps at definitely, sa sounds! Can't believe na maganda yun tunog niya, at siyempre maganda pa headset ko kaya sulit siya. Crisp and clear sounds kaya pang audiophile pa to, paano pa kaya pag ang headset ko eh westone or Klipsch? Dagdag mo pa yun wifi capability niya kaya naaddict ako sa kakainternet.. Sometimes nga di ko na nabubuksan yun computer ko lalo na kung internet lang hanap ko, aba edi dito na lang ako maginternet! As you see, sa FB or twitter, I use this to tweet or check FB, laking tulong din pala. Better yet to have a smartphone in the future. 

The best thing I loved in this thing, VLC player, TT movie player and movie player apps! Although as much it can play all the movies I have, it can't. Pero masaya manood dun kasi maganda ang quality and pag avi or 800mb yun file, perfect dun. Yun nga lang maliit lang yun screen. Lalo na kung ang file eh 1GB pataas, hang na. hehe I thought that Iphone 4S or IPAD 3 will play these big files pero in this player, proven it won't. It's quite sad but sulit na siya. 

Hay, I kinda miss this thing, sad to say I need to let it go. hehe But in the future, at lalo may bago na Itouch na dual core na with a bigger screen and same nipis, aba yun ang hihintayin ko dito. This time, with cool colors and design, I'll definitely go to the 64GB model. Dito ko na ilalagay yun sounds ko, all of them! hehe I hope it's quite cheap, pero malamang sa unang labas dito, mahal. 

Definitely, around 90%-100% of my movie collection with the same apps I used before, ay magplay na dito. Dapat lang! hehe

The reason I let go of this thing, siyempre, something better will come.. Medyo matagal ko na nga hinihintay to pero they say it will come next week.. Damn, I'm so thrilled to have that. Let's say this one is Ipad Mini in 7inches. Cheaper and it has the features I want lalo na as a movie or media player. Since wala pa ang Ipad mini at galaxy tab 7 inches is kinda expensive, let's go to a cheaper yet dependable brand. 

Can't wait to see that fire.. =)

Ah I'm not worried anymore with Griffith, he's in good hands. hehe Yun susunod na makukuha ko na Ipod touch na bago, I have already a name, since like Griffith, transformed into a monster.

Femto will be a nice name.
