The Queen

Of course, there were movies that I just dowloaded it then watch it already. Example, into the loop, hmmmm documenteries like The Film is not Rated, ah even Hard Boiled, even I converted it to zune now, I watched it before I save it.

Another film that I was memerized after looking some glimpse of it was The Queen..

Thanks to my former team mates who asked for it, I just downloaded it then check some scenes, but after looking through it, well decided to watch it in my computer. Bloody great!

The plot is simple, these are the events happened after Princess Diana, unfortunately died in France. These were some what was happening between PM and of course, her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II with her family of course. As the event happened, it's a course of what are the feelings not only from the Queen but also all the members of the family. From Prince Charles, sons, Philip then Queen mother or how about the Butler, and PM of course Tony Blair.

While the people demanded of course honor Princess Diana, The Queen was not able to decide right away because it will shatter traditions in their Monarchy. Like honoring Diana even it should be not. Other things as well, that made her confused on what to do, but well, after consulting everybody, including Tony, she made a choice to honor Princess Diana at her funeral.

That made the relationship between her and Tony strong as well as the ending says..

Short Plot? It is, definitely that's the summary of it. The film also surprisingly short, around 95 mins plus..

But what I like in this film is definitely, the performance of all the actors. Even it's short, every scene is magnificent! From the set, or even the accuracy of the event, it's like documentary with great depth of acting.

There are many scenes I like, some of them are like the scene which Elizabeth is saving the stag from being hunted. Another scene, is PM Tony defending the queen at the last scenes, well at first, he did not like working with the queen but at the end, he did understand what the Queen is going through.

Even the butler, damn, he's so good for being just a butler. I was surprised as well, that the Queen is driving along in a old Range Rover. hehe Helen Mirren is indeed done a great job as the Queen. From what I heard she's a sexy star before, but as coming of age, she became a great actress, and won an Oscar for this role. I did see when she won the award before, and I really fully appreciate just now why she won the award. I also like the speech she made at the wake and when she visited the gate of the palace.. That shows she is indeed loved by many..

Besides, Martin Sheen joked this year Oscar, that if you have a Queen with a spider tatoo and looks hot, you want to serve her everyday. Those aren't the exact words but he's damn right. hehe I'll be waiting for RED.

Speaking of Martin Sheen, I can't believe, he's the ex husband of Kate Beckinsale!!! Damn.. Oh well, oh about his performance, other than Frost/Nixon, this is a great performance from him, even no nomination, I think he should be nominated at that time. I like the scene that he wears a soccer shirt while debating with the queen. Very clever.. =)

James Cromwell, to the Prince Charles look a like, they were great. Another actor I liked is the Butler, played by Roger Allam I guess. The dude who was killed in V for Vendetta, the voice of london. =) I hate his character at V but in this one, the third best character, how he helped with the queen, being not only a butler. Patient and elegant. I thought Michael Caine will be the ideal butler, but I'll go for this dude.

From the set, then the scape as well of the story, even sort of fast past yet, it's fits all together.

Flaws? Well, it's was short, Stephen Frears, director of one of my fave as well, High Fidelity, should've have like make it two hours, add some side stories or plots but oh well maybe. Maybe he thought that if he adds more, it will be complicated because of the persons involved.

Other characters should have like spoke more, like Charles who I don't know, has less lines than the wife of Tony Blair. Even the mother of Queen Elizabeth, she should have more lines, I know she did her part to convice Elizabeth but I know she can tell more.

The film should at least give some history of the family. Well, I know directors intention is just putting us in one scene, but at least give some history of the Royal family, just a brief round. Since the story is about breaking a tradition, then it should be shown at least.

Overall, well, as the movie is quite short, I'll definitely recommend it especially for British Movie lovers! hehe

One of the best british movies made recently.. Unbiased and balanced. It gave a fair look to the Queen. Anyway, she's human.. And it's hard to decide for the better not only for the people but also an institution.

Well, even though I had many to do things that time, it was well spent. Watching a bloody elegant movie... =)

I'm not sure how will Tamara Drewe film go this time from Stephen Frears. hehe Well, besides Kate or Eva, Gemma is damn.. I wish.. =)

God Save the Queen!

Pagkatapos ng isang gagawin, marami pa nakaabang. =) Pero sa totoo lang nakakapagod pero tuloy pa di ako sa trabaho. Ewan ko, may attitude ako na habang di pa ko sinabihan na itigil o hanggang dun lang, eh stop na ko.

Paglipas ng panahon, at sa dami ng responsibilidad, minsan napapahinto na lang ako sa daan o nakatulala na lang o basta yun. Isip ng ganyan o tingin sa dating files or whatever, pero balik sa work. hehe Sobra dami ko hinahabol. Di lang gawain kundi, plans or well, money, or goals most importantly..

As the past blogs naman, marami naman bagay ang nakakapagpatuloy sa kin... At ayoko naman ulitin un. hehe Subalit tuloy pa din, parang toro ng sugod sa pulang tela hanggang sa mauntog siguro. hehe

Kala ko nga matatapos ko yun mga bagay in a deadline pero hindi pala. It's like a long queue which you will get tired of waiting. I guess... Sana nga kung totoo lang yun clone card sa magic, Icast ko na yun! =)

Or how about body double?

Nah, siguro I'll try na wag masyado habulin na tapusin agad yun work. Or job. Kasi sometimes, nacocompromise. Pero di ko naman sobrang mabagal kasi baka mainip naman yun naghihintay. Hirap di ba, hirap ibalanse ang lahat ng dapat tapusin o habulin.

Kahit hinahabol ko lahat ata, di ko pa rin maabot. Kahit maggatorade siguro ako, wala pa din! =)

Naisip ko din, dapat magpahinga ako siguro, parang pit stop kung baga, kaso kailan naman yun? Pagnatapos ang lahat? hehe

Pero mukhang mas maigi yun.. Maigi na stop for a while, breath and relax, wag matagal.

I know it will be a long journey, and in this journey may leave some unfinished work, but don't worry, kung kaya tapusin, kung hindi. Sorry, lesson learned.

I'm a man of my word. hehe

When I saw the end of this movie, I said to myself.. "Great but this is enough." hehe Why? I tried to think to watch it again but I thought of well, once is enough.

Anyway, after getting late going to trinoma from my work watching this movie with Rheg, we actually went back at Trinoma around 8pm. We did not reach the 12pm showing, due to my slow actions. hehe Besides, we need to wait for Khaye at STC after her meeting.

After speaking with EA and graciously making to Trinoma before the showtime at around 8pm, we watched it 2D and the movie theater is well, full.

Story involves around Cobb, (Leo) who is doing corporate espionage or getting secrets from Saito (Ken Watanabe) but it failed. So as a punishment or blackmail sort of, Saito wants to have Cobb do Inception, putting an idea to somebody's mind which Cobb says no one can do it or it's impossible to do it.

At the end, he agreed to do it for a competitor of Saito which is Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy). Well, that's it, Cobb assembled the team, from Ariadne (Ellen Page), Eames, Yusuf and the dude, Arthur (Joseph the 500 days of summer guy!).

As the mission goes as planned, with the most important tool is the dreams they go for or created for the mission, they having a problem with it especially with Cobb, at the final dream, he was trapped and then tried to save Saito but well at the end. I don't understand if it's he's ok or trapped forever.

Why is the summary such crap? Damn, the movie is complex. Simply that's it.I can't be more detailed or tell more about it because it's hard to explain or making it simple.

Anyway, even it's that complicated, it's one of the best movies so far.. But my heart still falls to Kick Ass!!! hehe

Best movie for so many elements. First the editing, good job to the editors of this movie. I will not be surprised if they will be nominated or win an oscar for this movie. Especially how the flow of the movie went, I know it's complicated but on how they presented it, damn good. Like the dream sequences, never seen it before, at least for now. hehe

Second, the idea of the movie is ambitious, that's why the script or the plot of the movie is kept secret until it was shown.. It is like an art film with only involves a very huge budget. It is very innovative and interesting some sort. I know it has questions left unanswered but as an movie experience, it went good and well.

Third, actors!! I do like Leo in this film, it's just matter of time, well if this is the film he can get an award or from shutter island. Ellen Page, underrated actress, from Juno or Hard Candy, then this one? Just the right dumbfounded Architect. hehe Then other actors as well, and the one will be playing Mad Max, I know the reason why he will become Mad Max, he's fit for the role. =)

Joseph Gordon done a good job as well for the right hand, and I don't know how he was able to do the stunts but damn, he looked cool and calm and clean as well. Great job for him!!! I'm not sure about nominated but critics wise, the role is good for him..

Of course my fave is Cobb because the truthfulness in his dilemma and how he do the job, my second fave is Mal, (Marion Cotillard). Even her role is kinda pest in sense of the role, that's good for her. hehe Nobody in the story are like pure bad or evil character, it is only her because she's ruining the job always. That's how Cobb loves the person, he keeps it until the deepest dream or memory, and he lets it show even she ruins the job. hehe

The effects of course, I almost forgot, damn slow motion.. Great work especially those multilayer sequences and action sequences floating in the air or sort of, that's one of a hell movement. Those where the thrill feeling comes in.

Someone I know like Cobb feels that.. Hmmmm

Anyway, the film has drawbacks. Yes the first one is it's very long and some parts are dragging. Especially in the middle part where they are testing or planning the mission but it's not wholly enticing. I do love the scene where Adriadne playing the dream. hehe

I do somewhat love the ending but it just leave more questions. Which goes to number two.. Sci Fi indeed, it does gives you more questions than answers. But come on, at least not like how Cobb get the equipment to make those people fall asleep longer and do the dream sequence. It's not like falling asleep and dream right? hehe It's not that simple. How Michael Caine's character, influence Cobb to do that before? Or how about their past missions? Or even the ending, is he alive or trapped forever in a dream?

Well, it's just too many questions to be answered and I will not be surprised if there will be a sequel or prequel. However, those are not easy questions to be answered. Mind you, it will be a long movie again. Although the movie experience is good, but not great like Kick Ass or even Blade Runner or 2001.

Lastly, what else, ah yes, since the concept is good and they had more questions left unanswered, they just made the movie shorter or like at least compressed the movie. I mean, answer some questions of the movie then put it in a scene or scenes. Or they can make the first scenes shorter, that first scenes, it's like a movie itself already. hehe

But if they do that, I don't know how the editors will respond to it.

After watching it, gave me a headache. hehe But it's a good one at least, or even Rheg and Khaye who admitted fell asleep during some parts of the movie. =)

However, I going to put this in the collection and I'll try to prepare my mind when watching this movie again. Maybe I missed some parts of it. hehe

Noong natesting ko yun N900, sabi ko, ayos yun ha!!! Parang yun 5800 ko, luma na. hahaha

Well sulit siya in the sense na multitasking, iba OS and sleek design in a good price din. Sabi nga iphone or android daw, pero if I'm going to spend 40k plus for a phone and sounds. Di na, desktop na lang o laptop. hehe Or phone with Zune.

Anyhow, bakit tayo napunta sa N900? Balik tayo sa 5800..

Yes, after Blue Ruin, now comes SoundWave, my 5800. Nung nakita ko pa to dati na kay Ate Jen, sabi ko, gusto ko din yun. hehe Ayos ang sounds saka touch screen which di ko pa natry eventually..

Good thing noong bumili sila ng bago, ayun bargain na lang ang 5800. hehe What I like in this phone is ayun, express music!!! Better than 5130 in terms siyempre sa capacity saka yun tunog, eto talaga, kahit wala na yun speaker, pwede na. Wag lang todo yun volume, di kaya ng speaker. hehe

Saka touch screen, sa entertainment, like videos, tested na din. Ok siya. Lalo na yun nakahiga na feature, parang sa N93 dati, gusto ko yun.

Headset? Panalo. hehe may select panel yun headset nito so I don't need to just push forward.. May back, play, pause whatever. hehe

Messaging, calls, 3g, pwede na!!

Siyempre, di naman siya perfect phone for me. Like sa contacts, di siya automatic eh. Touch screen siya pero minsan mahirap o di nagrerespond. hehe Sensor niya minsan magulo, pagtanggal ng lock, nakatagilig pa din, kaya iniikot ko yun phone. hehe Lastly siguro na drawback, medyo malaki. I mean, di siya dala ko pag fit pants ang suot ko, it's either yun lang nasa bulsa ko saka isang wallet lang. hehe It does make sense sometimes.

Pero sulit naman siya, kahit brand new ko siya bilin. Naisip ko yun 5233, kaso di naman carl zeiss eh. hehe But anyway, I'll keep this for a while. Mukhang eto lang yun phone ko na ibebenta in the future na kahit mahal ko na. hahaha

Kasi siyempre may X6 na, astig! Natest ko na kasi. x9, kung lalabas pa, N8 na HD screen! N900, holy crap. hehe But siyempre susulitin ko muna tong 5800 tapos makapagpalit na. Malay mo baka mura na yun mga astig na phone in the future. Iphone? Siguro 3GS pero mga 15k lang. hehe Tapos yun iba? Panget eh. hehe Samsung as usual sirain in the future, Sony, di na maganda, may sauli pa!!! I'll stick either Nokia or Iphone if it's cheap. hehe

For now, I'll enjoy the wonders of my SoundWave..

Kinabukasan

Di ko alam kung ano nga ba darating sa kin bukas.. Kahit naplano mo ang gagawin mo o napagdesisyunan mo na yun dapat gawin eh nababago pa din.

Kung pwede mo lang malamang kung ano ang bukas para sayo, edi sana madali ang buhay di ba? Pero naisip ko parang hindi din. Hindi talaga. Ika nga ng mga kasabihan, ikaw lang makakagawa ng kinabukasan mo.. Kung ano gusto mo mangyari at panindigan mo!

Ang hirap naman nun.. =(

Mahirap magbunga siyempre yun mga plano mo o yun gusto mo mangyari bukas. Kasi di naman natin hawak ang resulta ng gusto mo.. O kahit gusto nila, kasi siyempre pagayaw mo, edi wala na. =) Sorry na lang sila.

Dati di ko iniisip kung ano ang bukas para sa akin pero itong nakaraan mga taon, naisip ko na din kung ano dapat para sa kin.. O kahit sa kanila.. na ikakasaya ng lahat. O kakasaya ko, sa sarili ko at kung meron, sa magiging pamilya ko. Kung meron.. =)

Siguro na din, naisip ko na din ang mga bagay na talagang masasabi ko saan maging masaya o komportable. Pero isa ang sigurado ko na gusto, na tahimik na kinabukasan at puno ng saya at pagibig bawat araw.

Iniisip sa paglipas ng panahon, kailan kaya darating na araw na yun? Siguro talagang sabik na ko dumating na mga araw na yun.. Ulit..

PInagdadasal ko nga araw-araw, sana kung darating nga yun, nandito pa ko. =)

Di naman ako nawawalan ng pag-asa.. Yun na lang ang tanging nagbibigay sa kin siguro ng lakas. Siyempre nakalimutan ko, pagibig na din galing sa mga taong nakapaligid sa kin.. Salamat!

Pero di lang yun, may mga iba pang bagay na din, marami sila, mahirap ilista dito. =)

Ang Diyos na din, kahit minsan parang ayaw pa niya ha, pero salamat din at nandiyan siya para bigyan tayo ng patawad, at grasya.. Presensya.. Pag gabay.

Kung anong bukas ang ibibigay niya sa kin, edi dun na ko. Kung para sayo talaga, ibibigay niya sayo.. =)

At naniniwala ako dun, maraming beses na.. Kahit di yun talagang hiniling mo, ibibigay niya sayo na ibang dimensyon at maiisip mo, oo nga no! Mas tama yun binigay niya..

Pero may binigay siya dati, na talagang napasaya ako.. At sana, ibigay niya ulit yun.. Medyo matagal na, pero naghihintay pa din ako. Ok lang yun, mahaba naman ang pasensya ko. =)

Sayang lang, kung naging tama lang ako...

Actually, parang wala ako sa mood magsulat pero anyway nandito na. hehe

Lalo, na pag maraming kausap, YM, FB, at sa text, eto ang multi tasking!!!! =) Isa isa lang ha..

Life flies fast, for me, I never quite get some rest ahead. I was able to get a real rest, for 2 hours yesterday, sleeping in a cold afternoon!! Yeah..

Anyway, kakatuwa yun video ni RA Rivera with Ramon Bautista, they're doing marketing research kung sikat nga ba talaga si Ramon, ayun pumunta sa UST. hehe

I hope that research helps to entice advertisers and support for a new show daw, Have Fun with Ramon Bautista, catchy name indeed.

Ano pa ba.. Ayun, ayos dito, ayos doon.. 4-9 na bukas ang UST!!! Go USTE!!! Go!! Go!!! hehe

Natatawa ako sa mga past blogs ko, I'm checking it and seems to find it uplifting na madami na pala nangyari in the span of 3 years.. Well, may followers kahit mga 5 or 10. hehe Improving. Sana magcomment sila.

Well, for this coming week, I hope I could improve my stats for work. To fix the shortcomings sa shop ko, and lastly, I don't know plan for next month which it will be interesting.

I don't know, basta pagnatuloy to.. Quite free for a while..

I used to disturb one person last night, well, unfortunately, it did not turn out what I expected. hehe Maling akala..

Moving on, by the way, ah yeah, wala lang. Yun isa diyan, oo na, pasok na ang DLSU, lumakas sila kasi 2 OT sa first round against FEU tapos tambak sa second round, pero sa Final Four kaya? hehe Pero anyway, tanggap ko naman kamote na kami, malaki ang field ng UST para magtanim ng kamote until next year.hehe

If FEU loses this year, the coach should go. Please, and honestly, it will be his fault.

Other things, well, sana magstart na ko sa mga gagawin ko dapat at ayun, I hope di pa ko wear and tear until next month. Please, more strength. hehe

Ah yes, this month, it's all planned what will I write, at least half of it. It's more of reminiscing what happened, not last years, but last months lang.

I called it like unrecorded posts.. It should be posted before but due to busy and tight schedules and running out of time.. even energy, now this is the month to post them.

They should have posted before but well, it's better than late than never!

I'm still puzzled what happened last night. =(

flashbacks: Alaska milk with Pares

Siyempre inaamin ko, sometimes I'm a gambler.. hehe Pero di naman yun malakihan na pusta, just for fun. I look back those pustahans, from odds ng NBA, yun goals as din.. Well, they are all for fun. Lalo na yun odds sa NBA, kakamiss na din. Kahit now, kahit walang booker eh tinitignan ko pa din yun odds sa net, saka yun stats ng mga teams.

At siyempre, may conduit sa mga pusta na yan. hehe May accomplice kung baga, at ayun si Al, Atty. Al na pala. hehe

I still laugh about that 1/4 sheet of paper na pinirmahan pa namin about a certain pusta sa isang game ng PBA noon. May witness pa!!! Si Ivan.. hehe

Alaska Aces well, yun ang team ko sa PBA until now. Even I haven't watch a single live game na sila naglalaro, kuntento na ko pag sa TV ko sila napapanood. Great coach Tim Cone, tapos ngayon nagchampion pa because of a perfect system for the players and a great import as well. Looking back those college days, they got the first draft pick, at yun ay ang highly touted rookie, the benta king, Mike Cortez!!!! hehe I realized with that unproven accusation sa UAAP finals eh well, he still got drafted, at number 1 pa.

Atty., siyempre ang team ng indot eh never say die, Ginebra Gin Kings!!! Naks, malamang nun panahon na yun, malakas pa sila Menk, tapos yun Caguioa and Helterbrand, pero parang si Mark the spark pa lang yun malakas nun saka siyempre si Menk.

I forgot bakit kami nagpusta sa isang game nila, pero siguro nagasaran kami, siyempre kahit magaling naman sa basketball si Atty nun, ako naman well, mahina na, pero pag sa PBA, ayun asaran kami. Sarap asarin ng Ginebra! hehe

Pero yun nga, to prove kung sino talaga magaling, edi nagpusta kami... Pares with extra rice, pares sa may maceda ha, hindi sa Retiro. Although mas masarap sa Retiro, pero ang malapit sa min, saka after class pag nasawa sa Almers, dun kami kumakain, Pares sa may maceda. hehe

Sinulat pa namin sa 1/4 paper yun, with witness nga, tapos may terms and conditions pa ha!!!! Kasi naman may class kami obligations and contracts, so we want to make a fun of it. Besides, we were stressed at that class, in 3rd year. hehe

Pirmahan pa ha!! Kampante din ang Indot. Sabi ko naman, ok lang, handa na ang 60 pesos ko plus 12 ata for the extra rice. hehe That time kasi mataas sa standings ang Ginebra, samantala kami sa Alaska, middle standings pa.

After that day, we waited until Wednesday to go home and watch the game. Siyempre ako, abang talaga kasi Pares din yun ha, na libre. hehe As the game started, like 1st quarter, ayun inaalat ang Alaska, tapos tong Ginebra buenas pa tapos siyempre may crowd support. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, wala na to, ubos na baon ko bukas! hehe

Pero as the game progressed, akalain mo, si Mike Cortez, na wala ako tiwala that time, siya bumubuhay sa Alaska!!! hehe Naalala ko, kasama pa sila Arigo, Peek and Cablay noon pero grabe, si Cortez yun tumatalo kila Mark and company.

It went to 4th quarter, ayun text ng text kami nila Atty, kinakabahan siya kasi dikit ang laban.. Nangangamoy pares ata ako bukas!!! hehe

Well, the game ended, Mike Cortez scored around 25 points and sealed the win!!!! Well, Ginebra, losers! hehe Kawawang Mark the spark, kahit 20 points ata ginawa, wala nagawa kay Mike. hehe Saka naisip ko din, baka mahal ang fee ni Mike that game!!! hehe I thank for him at ayun, ang sarap ng lunch namin ni Al next day..

Pares with extra big rice... Tsalap. hehe

Now, wala ng Mike Cortez kung saan siya napunta at ayun sa huli, Ginebra siya napunta.

Ang tanong, kung magpupusta ulit kami ni Atty, pupusta kaya siya sa Ginebra?
