No Shelter

I have been thinking, my 4th loved song should be, D generation X? hehe Nah, I have many choices for the 4th place but this one was higher because it was like it's a pop song but a strong song. Pop song? Hmmm as in the lyrics and the mood of the song, it was not written or made that serious effort like the next 3 favorite songs. Actually it was made for bashing speilberg? hehe But that was made in a good song, from the opening rift until the power Zack vocals, you wouldn't mind the lyrics anymore. This is for a soundtrack? hehe Godzilla was crap, but not the soundtrack, including this one. Well the MTV of this song is better than the movie.

Well, they do bash the US political and corporate culture, that's a given fact.

Just stare!!!!!!!!

The main attraction, distraction
got ya number than number than numb
Empty ya pockets son, they got you thinkin that
What ya need is what they sellin
Make you think that buyin is rebellin'
From the theaters to malls on every shore
The thin line between entertainment and war
The frontline is everywhere, there be no shelter here
Spielberg the nightmare works so push it far
Amistad was a whip, the truth feather to tar
Memories erased and burned to scar
Trade in ya history for a VCR

Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got ya searchin for
The thin line between entertainment and war

There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere

Hospitals not profit full
The market bull's got pockets full
To advertise some hip disguise
View the world from American eyes
Tha poor adore keep feeding for more
Tha thin line between entertainment and war
fix the need, develop the taste
Buy the products or get laid to waste
Coca-Cola was back in the veins in Saigon
In Rambo 2, he got a dope pair of Nikes on
Godzilla pure motherfuckin' filler
Get your eyes off the real killer

Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searchin for
Tha thin line between entertainment and war

There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere
There'll be no shelter here!
The frontline is everywhere

American eyes, American eyes
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothin behind

American eyes, American eyes
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothin behind

Just stare!
Just stare!
Just stare!
Just stare!

and live the nightmare!

hadda been playing on the jukebox

Of course, I do love US bands. In the US, they have a lot of good bands, some great.. Well, only one for me stands out.. Rage against the machine!!!!

While listening to college days, or even HS days, that was the time, Linkin crap sets in. Getting famous.. But you have Limp Bizkit, Korn and Deftones with so called nu metal. New kind of rock music with a fusion of turntables and old skul hip hop then rock music. Except for Korn of course..

I discovered this damn band wayback high school, as they releasted their 3rd studio album, Battle of Los Angeles, which is damn great! I first look at them and heard at MTV, they're rocking awesome. From well, simple bass of Tim C who went crazy at a MTV awards night. hehe Brad Wilk at drums hmmm simple again but just right for the band. You have a guitar god under Tom Morello, looks simple but hella good at guitars, especially when he does the rifts and standalone in betweens, damn good in live as well. He's damn good and crazy, I love it. hehe He's one of the best lead guitar in rock, history. period. Iconic.

Then another icon is in this band under the name of Zack dela Rocha. The guy with dreadlocks yet with a powerful voice and sense of fight for freedom and patriotism. I guess. hehe But he's serious about it, look at his lyrics and how he say it. I know it's like rap, but damn it just fits right. Well, he is also one of the iconic rock vocals we have in this generation, even not that famous, he should be in the hall of fame as well. The whole band. They are only one of the bands that not only making good music but also awareness politics and social action. If I were the president, I'll invite them here to have a concert, for free. Of course, I'll pay them. hehe

You won't believe that because of them, if there were times I'm angry or down or in a bad mood, I listen to them, until now.. They indeed have a rage in their song. A rage that is for the better... Soothes away the anger or bitter and fear..

Definitely, my favorite US band.. Yes, after JD and New Order, they are next in my list. I do hope that after they united these days, they should go back to studio and do more albums!!!! You sucka!!

My 5th fave song from them, is a poet turned to a rock track.

I love the live and rare version. Way better that I recently discovered version, the studio version..

Hadda Been Playing On The Jukebox

Written by Allen Ginsberg, performed by Rage Against the Machine
It had to be flashin' like the daily double
It had to be playin' on TV
It had to be loud mouthed on the comedy hour
It had to be announced over loud speakers

The CIA and the Mafia are in cahoots

It had to be said in old ladies' language
It had to be said in American headlines
Kennedy stretched and smiled and got double crossed by lowlife goons and agents
Rich bankers with criminal connections
Dope pushers in CIA working with dope pushers from Cuba working with a
big time syndicate from Tampa, Florida
And it had to be said with a big mouth

It had to be moaned over factory foghorns
It had to be chattered on car radio news broadcasts
It had to be screamed in the kitchen
It had to be yelled in the basement where uncles were fighting

It had to be howled on the streets by newsboys to bus conductors
It had to be foghorned into New York harbor
It had to echo onto hard hats
It had to turn up the volume in university ballrooms

It had to be written in library books, footnoted
It had to be in the headlines of the Times and Le Monde
It had to be barked on TV
It had to be heard in alleys through ballroom doors

It had to be played on wire services
It had to be bells ringing
Comedians stopped dead in the middle of a joke in Las Vegas

It had to be FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover and Frank Costello syndicate
mouthpiece meeting in Central Park, New York weekends,
reported Time magazine

It had to be the Mafia and the CIA together starting war on Cuba,
Bay of Pigs and poison assassination headlines

It had to be dope cops in the Mafia
Who sold all their heroin in America

It had to be the FBI and organized crime working together
in cahoots against the commies

It had to be ringing on multinational cash registers
A world-wide laundry for organized criminal money

It had to be the CIA and the Mafia and the FBI together
They were bigger than Nixon
And they were bigger than war

It had to be a large room full of murder
It had to be a mounted ass- a solid mass of rage
A red hot pen
A scream in the back of the throat

It had to be a kid that can breathe
It had to be in Rockefellers' mouth
It had to be central intelligence, the family, allofthis, the agency Mafia
It had to be organized crime

One big set of gangs working together in cahoots

Hitmen
Murderers everywhere

The secret
The drunk
The brutal
The dirty rich

On top of a slag heap of prisons
Industrial cancer
Plutonium smog
Garbage cities

Grandmas' bed soft from fathers' resentment

It had to be the rulers
They wanted law and order
And they got rich on wanting protection for the status quo

They wanted junkies
They wanted Attica
They wanted Kent State
They wanted war in Indochina

It had to be the CIA and the Mafia and the FBI

Multinational capitalists
Strong armed squads
Private detective agencies for the rich
And their armies and navies and their air force bombing planes

It had to be capitalism
The vortex of this rage
This competition
Man to man

The horses head in a capitalists' bed
The Cuban turf
It rumbles in hitmen
And gang wars across oceans

Bombing Cambodia settled the score when Soviet pilots
manned Egyptian fighter planes

Chiles' red democracy
Bumped off with White House pots and pans

A warning to Mediterranean governments

The secret police have been embraced for decades

The NKPD and CIA keep each other's secrets
The OGBU and DIA never hit their own
The KGB and the FBI are one mind

One mind, brute force, yet full of money
One mind, brute force, yet full of money
One mind, brute force, yet full of money
One mind, brute force, yet full of money

It had to be rich and it had to be powerful
They had to murder in Indonesia 500000
They had to murder in Indochina 2000000
They had to murder in Czechoslovakia
They had to murder in Chile
They had to murder in Russia

And they had to murder in America

Agony

Yes, it is very hard to cope with it.. Many times in my life, I don't know, like asking myself, why I'm still here? I tried to really cheer up myself these past days but well.. Nothing happened.

Thinking what will happen to my shop today..

Or how's my survey to help our team at work.. To have high stats and still stay in the company..

My magic decks which are always pending to be built. hehe

The family as well.. My loving family.. I just hope, we're always ok.

My tired body which, well, not yet sick..

My mind.. Yes, I don't know why it's not yet breaking down, but thank God.. It's still here, thinking of ways and plans.. Thinking forward.

My heart.. I guess, it's always been hurt.

My soul? Little fire left..

That's the reason why I look so tired.. With everything I need to think, do and look for, I felt, it's never ending.. An unforseen end of a tunnel.

A bottomless pit.

It's like in the movie inception, Cobbs has multiple aspects in his life, hidden in his dreams.. As the elevator goes lower, more secrets or feelings left hidden. Kept hidden..

Unfortunately, no Adriadne tried to discover those floors. Mal? Hmmmm.. hehe

Add to that.. Her.

What keeps me going despite all of this?

You're looking at it. That's one..

Hope is another one. Never ending burning of hope that one day, at least most of those pains will go away.

Him above, as I pray everyday, I'll do my best to do my part for you and I hope, I do believe, you'll do your part.

Of course, faith.. That I can do this and see that end of the road. Faith to the people around me, family, friends, team and everyone I know. hehe I believe in them. Even her.

Love, yes, there is still love to myself and I just love doing this. Maybe it may go wrong but I just love going over and do the best thing.. That I know, I love for.

I love even agony.. because it improves me and drives me to do better just to have it away. Go away please!

For now.. it runs through me, every single moment.

Silly.

enron: the smartest guys in the room

anyhow, I did watch this documentary way back years already. Youtube using my destiny cable hook up, and it was very slow but I stay tuned because of the scam they into. A very complex complicated business scandal that rocked corporate america. Wow. After watching it, I can't still believe it.. Damn..

Well I do curse my former accounts, namely Dish because of what they do to their customers. hehe Or how about HSBC, not in their customers, but employees, like me. hehe Or Dell, well, maybe product defects? hehe But all of them, I mean they are doing the business right and sound.

Enron, as we all know the history, done something massive. Fraud.

Worldcom and other companies fall down on year 2001 due to well not strong financial foundation. At least there is a specific and bitter reason for a company you work so long it's just failed and was not able to keep up. But Enron, wow.. All along.. You were believed that they are a top 5 company in America but the true is, it wasn't.. Never close.. even close of being a big business.. It was all in paper but no substance.

Like one segment there, it's like the emperor with no clothes..

There are conspirators of course. Movie starts of course with the Chairman of Enron, Ken Lay. The emperor who just commands, continue to earn big money. Then, after his first fraud case at NY, then he got his money maker, the CEO, Jeff Schilling. Then others got involve, like the CEO Marketing Cliff Baxter who committed suicide at the start of the movie, then the mastermind of the fraud, CFO, Andy Fastow.

When you watch this, it's like a biography of a person who started young and simple yet have big dreams. Then it grows bigger and bigger and became not only famous but also one of the richest corporations in the USA.

If there are successful stories about it, then behind it are some dark plots. Or some dark past and future, of an entity who has a great image outside but in the inside, there is nothing to it. It's like one of those tricks that you see it now, and now you don't thing.

And that thing is money! When you have the best accounting firm and lawyers and of course, the forger like in Inception. Then you have a perfect plan to defraud people. Not only people but institutions as well.

As the story goes, it is going down into pits. I was laughing at that part when Lu Pi left Enron with $250 million money. Wow, damn I wish I'm like that dude. Actually, he's the luckiest guy in the Enron scam. He disappeared without a trace, and damn richer...

I was shocked how the scam or they work to show they have money but the truth is, they don't. The first step of the process was allowing them to be in the market showing only their future earnings, to the investors and people. That's one of a hell magic trick.hehe It started one lie then goes another..

Marketing strategies, or investments that they look good but the truth is, it won't work. Like the power plant they built in India. I can't believe they put up a billion dollar plant and then it went kaput. Nobody there wants to buy expensive electricity. Or how about the bandwith trading which come on, they are not even a telecom company. hehe

Ah their traders, speaking of traders, they're like in the movie Boiler Room. Great scammers. hehe Not that a whole of the thing they do is scam I mean, they control energy. I was sad at that California chapter, residents there are treated like kids, do this, or no prize. hehe Give us money or no electricity. Geez, I hate that kind of living.. Wayback Ramos days. hehe

The strategy to keep the stock prices up all the time. I don't know with the traders what are they thinking but they should know that not all the time, stocks are high. I was surprised that they don't smell something fishy about a stock, amidst other stocks are desperating to get their prices up, Enron stocks are just steady going higher. They do treat their stocks like it's their own invention. hehe

Well, of course, how they do that, that's where the CFO goes in. Make some dummy accounts and treat like a different investor, then show it as a legit entity. That's more than pyramid or ponzi scheme. It's just it's more complicated. That CFO dude, damn brillant. Unfortunately, he got caught.

Not only him, but all of them. After all the process, and some whistleblowers, all of the cards they put up crashes over. Very tragic event. One day, CEO Jeff Schilling decided to call quits and that was the start of armageddon in Enron.

Stock prices go downhil, way down..

Investigation to the CFO is achieving results.

CEO remarks or works in the recent years had some backlash even before he resigned.

Chairman? I can't believe it, he is still thinking of buying a private jet amidst all of this trouble. That's a good leader for you.

Some months after, Marketing CEO killed himself after he know the truth of the standing of the company and lastly..

20,000 employees, where gone. Enron filed bankruptcy and they were sentenced.

It was too late.. Very late. I was wondering, not only the Cable guy who invested his 401K pension to the Enron stocks which the worth became only $9.00 and can't open the account, but how about the other employees.

I feel sad for them. No pension, no benefits, a severance pay of $4500 which is injustified. However, you can't blame them...

Blame the smartest guys in that room..

Of course, you might think, how about the banks? The case in Capitalism: A love story?

They're just the same.. Actually banks should also blame to this Enron mess because they just gave the money of the shareholders to this scrupulous corporation.

They did not check it further about the standing or even balance sheets.. Oh crap...

Anyhow.. It was a great documentary. How the company grow and fall at the end. Great facts and stories about this mess and how they tricked all the people.

There are some flaws, like at the end, they kinda fast the story. And the proceedings of the jury, about them, it's short, I mean, they should have at least more takes of it. But well, they only show glimpses of it.

Lesson learned, just do the business right. I mean, I do have a business, my Dad had one before (and still thinking it's running. hehe) my brother as well, we do it right. We don't deceive or scam the customers. If we had some faults, we correct it right away.

Being transparent to the customer and of course, show great customer service! hehe We sell reliable products.

But those dudes, they only do is just thinking of making rich in the fastest way.. It won't work.

I still believe in hard work and perserverance, and great planning about not only in business, but life as well. Careers.

You need to sweat a lot, or work hard to earn honestly. Living in peace and not hurting anybody..

Because in the end, after all those sufferings endured during work.. It's all worth taking a rest and sigh. It's done.

I don't know with those people, hurting almost 20,000 people will not give you peace.

I'm damn sure of it..

Great! The gospel last Sunday was about being greed.

I think they were serverly punished..

Destroying an empire of cards built by greed and fraud.

They can repent.. In jail time.

For me, well, even I feel tired, just do the right job and finish it!!!!

More work.
