Lockout: An Ultimate All-Star Weekend Experience!

Long title. Whew.. But it was a great experience!!!!!!!!!

After going for a wake of my team mate, my sister informed me that there is an extra ticket but it's standing room only for the event. I said yes, I'll come with my brother in law for this once in a lifetime event.

I rushed to the Araneta Coliseum, but oh boy.. Damn traffic there and the lines, I can't believe it! It encircles the whole coliseum.. Geez, it is an once in a lifetime event! hehe

But I waited of course from Kuya Dong for the tickets and geez, a lot of personalities there, showbiz, other basketball players and some politicians as well.. All star studded perhaps, even the crowd from the UAAP games happened there before, stayed in the long lines. =)

People got kinda impatient because it's already 6pm and seems they coliseum still won't let the crowd come in. It was hard waiting especially for us because we don't know where we can get in.

As there was a signal already to come in, we just took a route from the media's booth side and kinda took a shortcut through the queue.. Like a crossover in a basketball game! Clever! hehe

We went in and yes, people pile up through the floor, or seat already if they have a seat, so we were waiting for the show to start.. Then, the basketball craziness starts!!!!!!!!!!

The NBA players start coming in, although not the superstars, but you have James Harden, the beard!!!!!!!! Derrick Williams, which I thought it's Deron Williams. hehe But it's the 2nd overall pick dude who will be playing with Ricky Rubio at Minnesota if that happens, hmmmmm JaVale McGee which is so big. Damn! Tyreke Evans, wow, I can't believe I'll see the great dude, who is the only good player at Sacramento Kings. I am fan of his since his Memphis days at NCAA.

Then, yes, they show some drills, JaVale has some dunks! Then of course, we waited for other stars to come out. Well, there were stars, but it's the PBA all stars. Geez, I already thought this before this event, they will be blown out around 20 points or more. Anyway, as they going for warm ups, wow, the rest of the NBA stars went out!

NBA MVP, Derrick Rose! CP3 Chris Paul! Durantula, my man Kevin Durant! Well, no Kobe yet but Al's idol, tandang Fisher came out. Yikes. hehehe Well, everybody is looking for Kobe, for me.. It was worth it already seeing KD and Rose! Plus CP3 in person.. Geez, let's go home!!! hahaha

I thought KD is thin but in person, damn he's legs are wide and arms, damn.. That's why nobody wants to guard that dude! hehe He's practicing the one legged fade away shot by Dirk, which subsequently used to defeat them in the West Finals. =) Actually he is not making any shot using that move. hehe

All the people in the coliseum went nuts and still waiting for Kobe.. After some 30 mins, the show started and yes, announcer gave a warm welcome to the NBA Stars first, then the surprise is, Kobe is the player coach of the team! Yeah boy!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Yeah, the PBA Stars where introduced and still star strucked with the NBA stars, getting autographs, photos, and meet and greet. I think they don't want to be playing anymore. hehe

For me, the rush I had there was amazing, I can't believe that as I posted before, I wish I can just see them in TV at that day, but for this one.. Damn, I watched it live! I don't care standing up for a day. hehe

Well, the game started and damn, those highlights are great! Alley oops from Kobe to D Rose, The beard showing his stuff. JaVale is dunking everybody which he rarely does in the Wizards. hehe But very athletic dude, he can run all day with that size. Defense as well.. Fish making some decent shots.. Tyreke, crossovering everybody in the PBA, having ankle breaked them! Derrick Williams, has potential, I hope he can use that in MIN. =)

Chris Paul, jeez, how he defends and how you will defend him, damn hard. No cure, just let him shoot a jump shot. hehe

My favorite of all, is KD!!!!!!!!!

I pity Rabeh, he tried but failed.. Twice.. Geez, fade away jumpshot by KD at the middle with time running out. And the hardest of all, fading away from the deepest corner for a 3! That was sweet, that was special. Damn, still they did not win against the Mavs. =( But anyhow, that time, I can say we can go home!!! hehe

It's damn worth it.. Wow, that doesn't include the dunks that KD did and alley oops as well. The crossovers and hussles, he do have post up moves.. Geez, that is 6'10". I hope they included Dirk! hehe

After the final score, which if 131-106 I suppose, everyone was happy! From MVP, even ERAP is there and to all who watched, it was memorable. =) I love it!

Except for some not so good factors. I was laughing when Mo got booed. Patricia can do some better hosting job.. And the last bad one I really, well, a feedback. Please, the hot dancers, should do some practice. But great thing, they are hot! hehe

Other than that, best things are indeed free. =) Yeah!!

Yeah, it's was traffic when we went home. It took us an hour, yes, an hour to go home!

Well, for the NBA, they really need to have a common goal to still continue the season. I mean, they have lesser problems than what NFL experienced in their own lockout.

I know some teams are losing but most teams are well, very well off.. I don't know the numbers why NBA is claiming losing or dropping profit but I hope they will resolve and take care of it. I do understand what the players are fighting for but let's face, economies not only in US but all around the world is quite crumbling, and prices are astronomical getting high as time goes by.. They just need to adjust with the factors setting in. The owners and players should give way or compromise to each other. Besides, they owe the success of the league even not that big monetary wise, but to us, the FANS! Fans who just love watching basketball! They should think now about the global fans which is evident growing into new heights..

I hope they will agree to help each other and have a season. Besides, well, thanks to the lockout this happened, but I feel bad for the great players because they are not playing. Some of them, already planned to play overseas even in the less salary they can get, because they do have passion for playing. Especially others who have the talent and wants to payback this season but unfortunately, like Charles says.. There might be no season or games to be play at all. How sad.

For now, I'll cherish what we saw, the experience, damn.. It was so great, I did not mind watching them against Gilas, but great for Gilas, they were close!!!!

Is it possible to have them as imports here? =)

Captain America: The First Avenger

Well, most of the superheroes we've known have either innate abilities, or curse.. Or even an accident to get special powers or skills, abilities as well. Others trained to do those special things, but some, well, very lucky. They were given those abilities or powers.


For this hero, he is one of them, and he has one thing he posses, the courage to fight for his country in times of war.

For this one, yes, a review a lot shorter. =)

Actually I already finished the gist of the movie but suddenly I realized, well, it's time to make it shorter, besides.. I have many posts to do.

After I saw the trailer, I was not buying it at first because it's Chris Evans and I was not really interested seeing him as another marvel character. Remember, he is already Human Torch.

Leading lady is not known, but it has Stanley Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones, and yes, Howard Stark, Tony Stark's dad!

But after watching Thor this year, I give it a shot and the following trailers came for this movie are great, so let's see. I listened to the spill.com review and they are happy. Even without the review, let's see!!!!!!!

Of course, there was Rheg and we went to trinoma, Harry Potter still there and jam packed. Transformers 3 still there but it has well, less audience. Those 2 movies, I did not watch it because of the time I had this past weeks, hectic due to collections. And besides, I was not happy for Transformers 2, meaning I'll just wait for junkie to load it up. For Harry Potter, even they say it's good, I'll just wait for junkie to load all of those 8 movies. =)

The line for Captain America, was long. I was surprised, because he has many fans, maybe they like how it will go.

After the movie, wow, I really enjoyed it.. For the bad parts, well, some of them. Some of the scenes, well the transition of it not good. Especially it has less scenes that when he has a team already, or how about Steve doesn't have so much family background. He just said, his father was a war veteran then mom a housewife..

Another thing, which are quite critical for the story. Since I read some of the parts of it online, Bucky is important in Captain America and of course, which I really know important is Red Skull.

Both were dead. Damn.. I love Red Skull because he is somewhat alternate ego of Captain America, as it shown in that old movie. And played great by Hugo Weaving, even he has less scenes but effective and great.

Now let's go to the goodies...

First is the setting of the film, great setting for the film, taken from the original story, great details as well..That WWII 40's feel, and surprisingly, it was directed by the dude who made Rocketeer, which has great details, except for the story perhaps.

I love the part when Cap became a mascot for recruiting to the US army.. I definitely loved it and laugh out of it. The training excercises, I was making fun of it, because Steve was really a loser but in the last excercise, the flag pole, wow.. That's was clever and of course, how brave he is to take the grenade, but it was fake though.

Second, the effects, number one is... Well, when I knew that Chris Evans is that thin dude, that's it!!!! He won. Simply amazing, it's not even exposed that well, that is someone else. The transformation was great as well, the costumes, the shield swinging.. The laser effects, wow.. The effects of the tezzeret and well, Red Skull!

Even the last sequence was great, the big airplane, and the clash of Cap and Skull, that I've waited for. It was short though.

Lastly, well, directing is good, redeemed himself in this movie.. But I give credit to the actors.. Hayley Atwell is the hot brit chick. She is indeed british.. Stanley Tucci, damn I hope he stayed for long.. Bucky and the rest of the team, played their roles good.. Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, that is a great one, I'm looking forward to that dude. That's why Tony is like that.

Two actors stood great in this movie. Nah, not Samuel Jackson..

But Tommy Lee Jones, played effortlessly being the commander of the special forces. Every scene he is in, very outstanding presence.. Even it's a serious or a fun one, great performance. I think, he did that spontaneously. Southern strict commander.

Of course, Chris Evans, besides that bulk he has already. The acting is great, especially when he was thin, then of course for the final scenes, great one. Better than green lantern. Well, Ryan Reynolds is good, but Chris was better. Thor? Chris equals Chris Evans. =)

Great for Marvel Studios for the past movies they made, for the heroes they have.. They made it into a general audience graphic novel type. Meaning believable stories.. Comics and Novel are different than screenplay for movies, so they did a fantastic job getting writers who can make good screenplays for the heroes. A more realistic one, not too much sci fi, or too much sci fi effect on it.

I forgot, the cinematography to this one is great.. Some scenes are real, so I really looking forward for the home release!

Great thing for this marvel movies that it has enough build up to become Avengers!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!! Looking forward to it, like what I did in Watchmen.

I just hope they remove Black Widow.

Indeed, Steve got lucky getting his power, it just he went unlucky, not meeting Agent Carter in the end, went cold for 70 years. But still strong though, same Captain America!

Pangasar ni Mang Inasal!

Previous blogs, I really loved Mang Inasal for sometime, before it was bought by a monster Jollibee.. However, as yun experience ko with it, from good, bad, to worse!!!!!

Siyempre let's go to worse na. hehe

Tired of eating lunch sa pathetic na concessionaire sa MJ, me and my team mates isip na kumain sa Mang Inasal, may bagong branch sa Valero. Punta kami, tapos maluwag ha. Gabi na kasi.

Eto na, oorder na kami, ako since parang kumain na ko, gusto ko lang yun 1 piece barbeque meal with rice.. Kaso eto naman si Ate, sabi 10 mins pa daw, and gusto ako paoorderin ng PM3, yun dalawang barbeque with unli rice. Naisip ko, ayoko nga saka yun ang gusto ko eh.. Kaso naisip ko na din, mag halo halo with ice cream na lang, since yun din oorderin ng kateam mate ko.

Eh si Ate, nun nakuha yun order, nagtanong kung ilalagay daw yun ice cream sa cone?! Naman oh. hehehe Saka iprepare na yun halo halo, sabi namin now na. So ayun, wait kami. Yun ibang team mate namin, mukhang nakagat sa offer ni Ate, tig PM order sila.

We waited and check yun place, ok naman, kahit medyo maliit, mukhang ok.. Tapos habang nagiintay kami, siyempre kwentuhan at asaran, pero nung tumatagal na, mga 10 mins, aba.. Medyo bad trip na kami.

At nakakagulat sa lahat, nauna pa yun PM ng mga team mate namin! Aba, medyo na irate na yun kasama ko umorder ng halo halo, mabuti may dala siyang carbonara from Avenetto. hehe

Aba, 20 mins na at sa kaka follow up nun order, sila Ate at Kuya, nagkakalabo na kung ano gagawin sa halo halo. At nauna na yun mga ibang umorder.

25 mins later, and yes, there is the order. Unfortunately, nagulat kami sa size, lumiit at ayun di masarap! 45 pesos, at yun size, parang isang baso lang at ika nga yun team mate ko, sabi niya, parang dalawang kaskas lang ok na. hehe Grabe, kakadisappoint, and as I finish my measly halo halo, di na ko kakain sa Mang Inasal! Pwede pa din, basta libre. hehe

Grabe, well, poor follow up service, poor menu.. Very poor quality, meaning parang nagtitipid na sila.. That happened na when Jollibee bought them.. Food shouldn't be parang other corporate entities na cost cutting na o magayos na din ng menu, kaso iba talaga pag malaki yun company.. They will do that no matter what. Jeez..

Ah, masarap na tuloy ang Chic-boy Halo halo. Kahit yun turon na lang versus sa Halo halo nila, sa turones na lang. hehe O kaya, eto na lang, yun lumpiang sariwa, mas ok pa yun kaysa sa mga palamig nila. hehe Peste talaga, nangaasar lang sila!

If they read this, great, they should take this seriously. Naks, not because they will lose a customer, pero if that goes on, I won't be surprised that they will close some branches, or worst, close it down! hehe

Sayang pa naman yun effort na nagtayo ng Mang Inasal, sana di na lang niya binenta, well..

If you been offered half a billion in cash plus stocks, ako din, ibebenta ko na! hahaha

But sayang, nathreat na niya the biggest food chain here..

flashbacks: Math Word Problems

Jeleane asked for help, siyempre pag math lalo na kung compute na lang, madali lang eh. Kaso nun nakita ko mga phrases na when the person run for 6km uphil then 2km downhill, then compute for the speed of the entire course, naku, ayoko ko na!!!!!!!!!!! hehe

Wayback HS, until college, well, I'm blessed na matiyaga ako sa math, especially Algebra, or the simple mathematical equations, or sa other math excercises.. Nun UST days na, lalo sa Algebra, nagulat ako na nakaka 1.25 o 1 ako sa Algebra. Di naman sa pagyayabang, pang grade 2 eh! hahaha

Nagugulat yun mga classmates ko nun college, magaling ako sa math. Sabi ko naku, di ako magaling sa math. They did have word problems pero mga simple lang, pang business and statistical use, which is easy. They don't know, nun HS, naku, parang middle pack lang ako sa class pagdating sa math. Pano naman, yun mga magagaling, magaling talaga. Ayoko ko nga ng trigo o calculus which are the causes of my failing in ACET. hehe Crap those subjects. Yes, ang mga HS kaklase ko, lalo na yun iba na binubully ako, magaling sa math. Well, yun ibang excercises kopyahan! hehe Saka siyempre diskarte sa mga titser, alam na, pipila tapos yun na. hahaha

Pero sa quizzes o test, naku naman, mataas sila. Pano nila nagawa yun? hehe

I can say, mahirap ang math word problems nun HS, lalo na yun bandang 3rd and 4th.. Some of them well, naintindihan ko ng kaunti, yun iba, wala na ko pagasa. hehe Most of them, yeah, they are freaking hard to understand.

At yes, even in science, you need to have the ability to identify these problems kasi sa mga higher sciences, ganito na eh. Mabuti di ako ng engineering, puro ganito ang isolve ko, meaning bagsak ako! hehe

At least, naalala ko yun 3 steps, I'm not sure if they are general steps. First is digest and outline yun problem, get the details o yun measurements o yun kailangan mo to solve the problem. Second is what kind of solution to get the answer or formula. Lastly, siyempre the work of itself, the computation and siyempre yun answer. At kung malas malas, explain mo bakit yun. Which is wala naman nun HS. hehe

Grabe, talagang kasumpa sumpa yun mga excercises na yun. Mabuti graduate na ko sa ganun. hehehe

Then college, akalain mo ako pa nagtuturo on some math subjects. Geez, thankful naman ako sa LSQC kasi iba yun math level nila to other schools, except for the other HS, pero ibang level talaga.. Thanks! =)

Di ko lang alam today kung gaanun pa din ang level ng Math from LSQC, pero sana tumaas or kahit steady lang, kasi malaking tulong sa student. Kahit yun ibang kabatch ko, nagugulat na they get praises because of the math skills from HS, kahit di naman masyado magaling. hehe

Yes, this kind of word problems may moral lesson naman, it is used on how to solve life problems which when I got older, I quite did not use it. It helps only for school setting perhaps. hehe Pero yeah, parang ganun lang siya kasi despite of my problems, I never really take time to lay out the solution first, so siguro na din sa experience. Besides, you will not use a scientific or a formula to solve for example debts. Siguro yun approach parang word problems, pero yun mismong word problem, wala eh. Mahina talaga ako. =(

Yes, the problem I had with Globe as I wrote before, they are not joking.. They disabled my autoload max feature in my present globe number. At first, I was frustrated because I need to change my number again, which I've done almost twice in a year.. And yes, I need to have an extra phone again for this extra SIM. Ah yes, I like I said before, I did lost my 3 sim phone.

Meaning, I have 4 SIMS again, I thought of changing the number right away and text all of them my new number.. And it is tiring.. Well, I thought of anyway, keeping this number, finish all the free text and that's the time I'll switch to the new one.

The first sim that well, got ruined, has 5000 free text which I admit did not use it because at that time, I always subscribe to text promos, unli whatever just to accumulate this into a monster number!

But well, as God says, anything excess, will be taken from you. One day, sim card error, try to replace it but it will be impossible already so oh well. I'll just get another number. =(

For this time, to save some money and yes, 1000 text is still 1000 text, I rather use it until the last text. =)

For now, it's 1189 and my guess is around 2 months, or max of 2 months, it's all gone. So the free text in my new number should be many! =)

But I think it may go early, with everyday, I text the shop, family, friends, customers, even for collection, so I feel, before 2 months is over. It is gone. Damn, the new number I got is not that good, but easy to remember.

Change is inevitable, I hope, for this kind of number change, it will be easy for me, for all of us. Wow, for all of them. =)

Well, some of those words, at the back of my head.. Quite irritating, nakakapanghina, actually when you visit everyday, 2 buildings tapos siyempre yun huli dun ako work. Parang yun, minsan kakabad trip. Wala pa naman ganito sa 3rd building. Thank Lord. hehe

Pero, of course, as a businessman or as a business na din and besides almost all of them, kilala ko na. Wala na naman ako magagawa, kung wala sila naku, siguro may mga delay ako sa babayaran ko talaga. =)

Compare to the patience you need in talking to an irate, or a clueless customer, than this collection role, mas matinding patience ang kailangan! Kahit minsan nakakapagod na at yes, I cursed them pero wala naman ako magagawa. That's where risk is coming in. I risk my everyday baon. =(

But thank God, kahit may mga delay, nagbabayad naman.. Nagbawas na nga ko ng customer kasi ang hirap kolektahin.. Pero nagbayad naman. I'm thinking na din of a list na kung sino ang dapat medyo magisip kung pautangin ba to or what. hehe

Unfortunately, may mga di pa nagbayad, pero thank God na di naman malaki. Maliit lang pero sayang din di ba.. Mahirap pa, yun pinagkakatiwalaan mo eh yun pa di pa nagbabayad.

Siyempre, di naman maintindihan na nakatseke yun.. Or even magagalit ang supplier or how about painvest ko din sa tindahan.. Or how about, I can pay other bills due to that loss. But customers, will not understand that, kahit maliit lang ang biz ko, they don't understand that. Yeah, because they thought they are always have the right. Not always right, have the right.

It runs out my patience o ika nga, nakakaubos ng pisi.. Pero what I do, sige basta magbayad at a time na sinabi.

Nakakatuwa nga eh.. Pano kaya if every company in the world would still do this? Manual collection, lalo sa utilities, everyday may pupuntang collector. hehe Parang nakakapeste yun. Thanks to a billing system, madali lang sa kanila mangolekta. Except sa bad debts collectors.. Ironically, I have bad debts, tapos, ngayon, I'm collecting, even honestly.. I haven't paid it up.

But one day, they will be gone, and they will stop. =) Well, I thank him for this extra opportunity, kahit papano nga nafast track lahat ng babayaran ko. Nung una nga, di ko naman maisip, magexpand dito sa office because I may not able to handle the stress and extra work para sa business.. I had the fear, pero I thank God, now for months or baka year na.. Eto, may nakukulekta naman ako sa Monday. =)

For those yun nga, di pa nagbabayad, well, yun lang.. Magbayad!

Geez, eto na muna.. Bago yun mga mahahaba. hehe Ah, yes, movie reviews will be shorter. No more spoilers or gist! Ok na. hehe

For now, ayun 2-3 na UST at sana mag 3-3 naman bukas against UP! May pagasa pa USTE!!!!

Dapat later na to kaso for now, parang pahinga muna sa ibang topic. For now, medyo may moves na kaso like always, busy. It has progress though.

For the week coming, medyo busy kasi daming gagawin.. Mabuti na lang may VL after that week. Ang sarap sa new LOB.. Yun GRIDD ko, sobrang wow, I did not expect na ganun na agad. Less work, more rewarding. Yun nga lang, medyo mataas ang work load, pero may sobrang time pa din for rest sa work. hehe

But other than that, yun load for everything lessens, the financial stress medyo nabawasan din.. Hay, it just my body might take it's toll. So I need some rest, at nakaplan na! hehe

This year, I'll make sure I'll get that long rest. =)

What else.. Ah.. Napaisip ko na din magayos ng kalat, literally here sa kwarto. Hmmm, due to the less load, ayun, sometimes, nakakalinis na. hehe

Ah, life could be simpler but I can't.. Due to the duties or responsiblities I have, damn.. But thanks to him, it is a blessing.. Blessing for this life.

Kahit may mga problema or sakit sa ulo, even a downer in times.. At the end of my breath, I say, let's move on!
