flashbacks: GK

Hmmmmm, they are great teachers ha for the kids, drawing, playing games and etc.. Lalo na yun mga Miriam studs.. And yes, some ADMU studs as well. I wish I've done this in UST days to get them to know better. Ah sorry!!! Damn. I'm old for that. hehe

Masyado ako nafocus sa kanila. hahaha

GK is Gawad Kalinga, and hmmmm ah, they are a NGO who builds houses for the less fortunate. I was invited to their activities because of our very active and beloved CG head na to join in the build. I only joined two activities this year, yun mga sumunod nga mas maganda kasi talagang magbuild ng house kaso, well, if you were informed 2 days before the event, mahirap na magpaalam sa kahit sinong TL siguro. hehe

Anyway, the experience is fulfilling.. First one was well, near in QC. I can't believe my GK village in this busy city. Near at my dad's house, near commonwealth market lies one GK village. Bulaklakan village at ang tawag at there, it has around 20 small houses and parang maraming townhouse ang style tapos tapat is your usual neighborhood.

Actually parang tapos na siya, kulang na lang some finishes pero we are able to do some work. Kasi yun likod na bahay at bakod, di pa tapos. Sakto, yun event na yun coincides with ADMU's parang loyola day something, so parang CSR nila ito. There, at first wala pang magawa pero may mass, at yun na, start carring some cement, actually puro cement lang then pass it around to others para makarating sa workplace. Other activities na ginawa nila were painting the houses, some children activities and medical mission if I'm right. Since malaki me, although not healthy eh yun.. Napunta kami sa building part. Kahit nakakapagod, eh ayun.. Masaya, kasama kasi ang buong CG namin. Makulit at feeling ADMU for just one day. hahahaha Nice shirt though. Miriam also joined this activity at may GK team din sila. Interesting. hehe

Well, nakakatuwa lang is those are students although like the typical na mayaman kid, is doing social work.. They were driven to make a difference kahit sa small community and masaya talaga. Kahit medyo maarte magsalita but at least you can talk to them, and have company din. Sana talaga UST pa lang ako!!!! hehe

It ended at 3pm, of course may pagkain, sobrang dami ng pagkain kahit boodle fight at ayun. They love having yun GK because it helped them a lot, libreng bahay, tatanggi ka pa ba?

Ah of course, may nakausap ako dun, damn I forgot the name ni manong.. Actually staff siya ata ng GK Admu, tapos ang dami niya kinuwento and gave info about how these families got free housing. O paano sila nakuha, or screening at take note, siyempre may kapalit at di naman mahirap. Have a livelyhood at sunod sa GK good values, no smoking, or vices or any immoral siguro. Malamang. hehe

May celebration pa nga sila ADMU after because of the Loyola day ata but well, pagod na kami, we went home.

First one is not enough and it was followed by another one..

This time, so near that it really motivates me to come. My alma univ.. UST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sana nandun ulit yun mga Miriam and ADMU studs.. Bwahahaha As I going there, may parang grand nation building summit for all GK villages ang members and that's made me a member perhaps. hehe

However, since this one is big at gaganapin sa new UST sports complex, sama naman ako. At interested ako sa new sports complex.. Wow, when I entered the complex/arena/gym.. Grabe, buenas yun mga studs ngayon!!!!!!!!!!! Masarap manood ng UAAP or concert dun.. Grabe, lalo na yun court, sarap tumambay.. At maraming rooms ha.. I think for other events and clubs. The salinggawi room? Yeah. hehe

Kaso di pa tapos eh, sobrang init, the aircon is not really fully functional. Then nabigyan ako ng assignment ni April to do some packing of goodies with the ADMU dudes. I mean, dudes and dudettes pala. I saw this college dude, mukhang artistahin, I can't believe that buff dude is only like freshman and sophomore ha..

Tapos, after that.. Ayun, may darating daw na group of kids to guide in each activity they will do. So parang may set of activities sa lahat ng bata, from drawing, making origami tapos, mind games, singing and theater arts ata and more. Nakapadami!!!!! Niyahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! May iba, ayun pasaway, iba naiinip at wala kang magawa kung di sabihin ng maghintay. Yun iba gutom kasi di pa kumakain from biyahe.. Yun iba lost. hehe Kaya marami kasi lahat ng GK villages eh talagang involved at pinaiiwan mo na yun mga kids for those activities. Yun mga ADMU studs, todo ang performance kahit pang 10th group na yun serve nila, other rooms are the same, like the singing room, siya lang magisa with some kids to teach other kids to sing.. Di mo makikita sa kanila yun pagod. Kahit sobrang init na.

Then I went to other rooms, long and behold the ones I really expected to.. They are back and they are many! hehe Hay.. Dungaw na lang sa glass. I damn hoped I was still a student in Commerce. hehe

I saw Cathy na kararating lang and after some time and the place is getting chaotic, decided to go home na. Besides umuulan at sobrang trapik because sa mga buses na dumadating from all parts of the country due to the event. Paalam na kami kay April even we know may token daw at concert after the activities, but well, it's better to get some rest. Lalo na ako, wala pa ko tulog that time. hehe

I can say, those activities of GK although it is not from a religious group or sect, it is encouraging others to serve the people who are really less fortunate. Sayang nga di ako nakakasama kasi sobrang saya, not only sa mga makikilala mo dun, but the people who are waiting for your share to help. God also commanded us, kahit si Jesus, to build more churches to others, especially for those who are lost. I mean not that spiritual church and proclaiming faith, siyempre, build churches to have others to have shelter to. A church in terms of this, a house for each one of us.

Although it's a longshot to help other people, lalo na having houses for them, we should never stop doing it until many are still lost or needs shelter to enjoy this life. Many of them, doesn't really ask for a big house.. A simple house puts a really big smile in their faces, simple house to protect them from rain or heat. To store the things they have and enjoy family time as well.

Support not only GK, marami diyan.. Hmmm Habitat for Humanity and other NGO's who build houses for the poor. A very fulfilling experience.

Ah yes, very ironic. My Dad used to build houses, buildings, roads before. Kahit ngayon, kahit kaunti lang project niya, he does it for a fee, kahit kay Ate pa yun pagagawa. hahahaha

His son, does it for free. Kahit walang talent sa drawing and doesn't have that kargador body. Geez. I do it for the service of many.

Ah yes, thanks to Uniliver, for the goodies nun nation building, hangang ngayon may libren sachet pa ko ng shampoo. hehe Tipid din sa sabon bareta at close up toothpaste. Yehey!!!!!!!
